Oh, God! It was embarrassing.
Just read.

Oh, God! It was embarrassing.

?I still remember when I saw it for the first time.

An adorable little basket was attached at the front. Every part of it dipped in the pink shade and it shimmered all over the place.

There was a cute bell attached to the right handle. Whenever I heard tring-tring, my heart would pound cheerfully and it felt like Christmas was around.

?

Tring! Tring!

Tring! Tring!

Who’s there?

It’s little Aarushi on her bicycle (Her favorite mode of transportation to the date).

?

By luck, I had a chance to be on an airplane when I was in 12th standard. It was sick. I felt as if someone was pricking my ears with a needle. As a result. It’s off the list.

I’ve traveled in sleeper coaches on railways during my graduation. Tasteless tea in the morning and stinky washrooms all day, was no lesser than a nightmare every time. Ahh! Forget it.

I still remember that day. I stepped out of the school campus after the classes ended and it was raining heavily.

My eyes gleamed with mirth seeing those tiny drops. Mamma never allowed me to feel the rain in my way but that day there was no barrier for me.

I swung onto my cycle and forced the paddle moderately so that I could savor the calmness of nature. How on the earth could I know what was coming my way?

?The intensity of drops dwindled and till then I reached the crossroad. Due to the pelting flow of rain, a tiny river, full of mud, emerged just after the crossroad as there was no proper road in those days.

?That small river was going to take considerable effort to cross safely. I had no option but to cross and for that, I needed a strategy.

I instructed myself, ‘Aarushi! Gather all your force and ride until you reach the other side.’ I jumped onto the cycle and hit the paddle heroically.

?Just in the middle of the mud, I messed up. That spot was deep. As a result, my speed went on decreasing.?

I didn’t give up and kept pushing the paddles. I could see the end coming. I knew I could have crossed it.

?

BUT……..

?

At the same time, three boys were sitting on the right side of the road. They noticed my struggle and the tension infected them.

They shouted, ‘Are…Are…Aree..reeee’ and BOOM!!!!!!

My concentration was interrupted. I resigned.

I was right in the middle of the road, my legs drenched with mud, my eyes fell, and swam somewhere in the mud. My heart noticed people chortling around me.

I stared at those boys furiously and they simply sauntered off after giving me a sly grin.

?So that experience was pathetic at the moment but that makes me laugh even today. I had several experiences on my bicycle but this was the worst that turned out to be the best.

?Over the time I noticed that I love riding a bicycle and the reasons are-

a)?????No source of pollution it has.

b)?????No expensive maintenance cost.

c)?????Stay healthy without any special effort.

?

Especially, I used to notice people busy with their regular chores as I would move slowly. You can neglect this mundane part of life but for me, it’s fun to observe people and the way they act.

For me, the bicycle has been my favorite mode of transportation (You may laugh but it is what it is).

Well, there must be something you still adore. So, let's talk about you. Ready??

Waiting................
