The OGC Canada Forum will be at Canada's National Geomatics Expo in Calgary next week, featuring a panel on integrating geospatial tech with Canadian built environments and a fireside chat on stakeholder collaboration.
130th OGC Member Meeting Approaching
OGC members are meeting in Goyang, Seoul, from?November 4-8. The highlights include the OGC & KOREA Joint Conference with a keynote by ISO President Dr. Sung Hwan Cho , and sessions on standards, AI, data cubes, OGC APIs, with a focus on urban digital twins, health, greenhouse gases, and open science.

The OGC API – Connected Systems standard connects diverse sensing devices and infrastructure into a holistic 4D framework facilitating tasks from visualization to action. Public comments are due by October 25.
Geospatial Observation Needs And Requirements?
The Geospatial Observation Needs and Requirements (GONAR) Standards Working Group (SWG) aims to standardize how user needs for geospatial data are expressed to help data providers respond effectively.?Public comments are due by?November 12, 2024.
New members
The City Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)?has been leading a 3D city model open data project called “PLATEAU” since 2020, with various partners from municipalities, academia, and private sector using CityGML.?Data standardization has realized various use cases in PLATEAU, contributing to the creation of new value of data.

Scott Simmons , Chief Standards Officer, attended the 6th Singapore Geospatial Festival, where the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the OGC to enhance collaboration through forums, workshops, and training programs. Simmons highlighted Singapore's commitment to making data accessible, which was further explored during the OGC Singapore Forum with global experts.
