Save the Date for OGC's 30th Anniversary Celebration

OGC@30 is a celebration of OGC’s 30th Anniversary taking place on Monday, December 2nd in Washington DC. This event precedes?Innovation Days DC , and features keynotes and panels from geospatial leaders that address pressing challenges currently faced by people and the planet. Highlights include a Lifetime Achievement Award for a notable figure from OGC's history and a Global Impact Award given to a member organization for advancing geospatial technologies and standards.

PDOK: A Decade of Success

The Public Services on the Map (PDOK), managed by Kadaster in The Netherlands, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023. By using OGC API Standards, Kadaster has made it much easier to manage its extensive national 3D building dataset, offering a detailed, high-resolution view of the country's built environment.

Community updates


MUDDI powers National Underground Asset Register

The Geospatial Commission is building the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR), a digital map of underground pipes and cables for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. By consolidating data from over 600 organizations, NUAR aims to improve the safety and efficiency of installing, maintaining, and repairing buried infrastructure. The NUAR Harmonised Data Model is based on the newly approved OGC MUDDI Conceptual Model , and represents the first global effort for comprehensive underground data integration.

Grant applications open for next phase of Climate & Disaster Resilience Pilot

OGC is excited to offer our members a pool of funding to participate in the second phase of the 2024 Climate and Disaster Resilience Pilot. The Pilot’s second phase will focus on generative AI tools working on Analysis Ready Data and their potential integration into geospatial workflows in the related fields of Climate- and Disaster-Resilience. Applications close September 18.

EmissionML Standard Working Group

The OGC membership seeks to form a new Emission Event Modeling Language Standards Working Group (EmissionML SWG) to improve data interoperability between emissions, sensor observations, and their geospatial sources. ?Public comments on the draft Charter are due by September 2.

OGC API – Features – Parts 4 & 5

The OGC API – Features standard offers the capability to create, modify, and query spatial data on the Web. Part 4 covers how to add, update, modify, and delete geospatial resources, while Part 5 explains how to describe data using a logical schema. Public comments are due by September 23.

The workshop comprises presentations from key projects such as ACCORD, DigiChecks, and EUnet4DBP, followed by an interactive session focusing on user perspectives, sustainability contributions, and the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for Life Cycle Assessment.
