Giving Back to Local Communities This Holiday Season

Community is at the heart of everything we do. For the Holiday Season, we're giving back to the local communities of New York and New Jersey.?

?For?Giving Tuesday on November 28, we donated 1,100 winter coats to local families in need with the help of our community partners: Joseph Miccio Community Center, Long Beach Martin Luther King Center, Red Hook Initiative, Red Hook Schools, Mid-Atlantic States Career & Education Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Weequahic Park Association and Lunch Break. Our donation would not be possible without the help of South Jersey Business Solutions, LLC!?

?Last week, with the help of Brooklawn’s local, family-owned market, we were able to donate 200 cans of New England Clam Chowder to Meals of Honor, a food delivery program led by the Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center that delivers groceries to disabled veterans across seven NJ counties.

“The donation of clam chowder from Community Offshore Wind is a tremendous contribution to the Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center’s ‘Meals of Honor’ program, which serves isolated, disabled vets in seven NJ counties,” said Ben?Wood, Senior VP of Planning and Development for MASCEC. “In this season of giving, Community Offshore Wind has shown the willingness to step up, and I know I speak for all of our 80 or so vets when I say a big thank you to all who made this possible.”

Engaging with Brooklyn's Local Businesses

While meeting with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, our team paid a visit to the Brooklyn Made Store in Industry City, which has a great range of gifts for the holiday season, and represents the diverse communities and business owners throughout the borough.?We look forward to working with the Brooklyn Chamber and local businesses to ensure the benefits of our project will go far beyond bringing renewable power to more than 500,000 New York homes.
