Offshore Opportunities this Summer for marine science and technology students and researchers
Training Through Research Surveys (TTRS) is a collaboration with the Marine Institute that increases national capacity in offshore marine research by placing students and researchers of marine related sciences and technologies on Celtic Explorer and Celtic Voyager dedidated research surveys.
Placements are geared towards marine oriented graduates, postgraduate students and early stage researchers from higher education institutes and research agencies across the Island of Ireland. Joining a TTRS survey is an opportunity to gain offshore experience, develop new skills and learn on the job with established research scientists and research leaders.
Berths available this summer include:
- WESPAS Leg 1 CE19010: Western Edge Small Pelagic Acoustic Survey (WESPAS) from 13/06/2019 to 04/07/2019
- WESPAS Leg 2 CE19010:Western Edge Small Pelagic Acoustic Survey (WESPAS) from 04/07/2019 to 24/07/2019
- CV19022: Celtic Sea 2 Nephrops UWTV from 20/08/2019 to 28/08/2019

Applications
Applications are invited from graduates, postgraduate students and early stage researchers from Higher Education Institutes and Research Agencies across the Island of Ireland.

Requirements
Applicants should be marine oriented graduates, postgraduate students or researchers.
A current ENG11 medical certificate and Personal Survival Techniques (PST) certify. (STCW95).
Applicants should have some prior sea going experience.
Please note ENG11 medical certificates must be renewed every two years and PST certification renewed every five years.
