All down.
All of them.
Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
I have been “restarting” my internet for the past hour, trying to figure out why I can’t get on a client’s FB page.
Funnily enough, a client just asked me to send an email - linking people to their Facebook page.
… and they’re down.
It’s a big lesson:?
Here you have 3 mega-platforms all on the same infrastructure… all going “offline” at the same time.?
Something we have no control over, yet, rely on so much.
If you’re running ads right?now - forget about it.
If you had a FB live planned - forget about it.
If all of your “community” are in Facebook groups - forget about it.
If you need your chatbot to close sales for you right now - forget about it.
Obviously, this is only gonna be a short outage…?
But it’s still a warning sign.
I wonder how many businesses right now are in a panic, because they have no access to social media.
The same businesses that neglect plain-and-simple platforms like email?
And tbh, this is why I love email so much.?
It’s simple, people overlook it, and most importantly…
The control.
When you get customer data… you keep that data.?
You own it.
And email is never going away — platforms will come and go — but once you’ve collected customer data, that’s yours to keep.

No “outages” will affect you… email will be like your backup generator… not exactly pretty… but reliable… and always working for you in the background. Always doing its job.
Something you can rely on — a true workhorse.
This is why it shocks me to see so many e-com stores NOT collecting leads on their homepage.
Worse still, not sending emails, except maybe once a month!
I mean, they run ads on FB…?
They post pretty pictures on Insta…
They’ve got videos on TikTok…
But they don’t send emails. Seriously? It baffles me.
And that’s why right now there’s so much opportunity in this space.
The simple-and-proven is being neglected, for the complex.
When your competitors are jumping from “this” platform to “that”
You could be running a simple email strategy that reliably makes you money.
Which brings me to the point:
A client of mine has just had their Best Sales Month all year since working with me…
And all we’ve done is keep it simple.
We’ve ignored TikTok, FB, and IG.?
And focused on the basics of direct-response marketing instead.
We grow a list, and then we mail offers to that list.?
Simple.
And it’s lead to the most profitable month of the year.
