Officially introducing STAK!
Kidzink | Koda Educational Architecture
Making Schools Better: Strategy | Architecture?| Design | Furniture |?Execution
Designed by Galpin Rock Studios' namesake designer Rock, STAK is a versatile furniture piece – simply and quickly convertible from a coffee table or a lightweight pouff, to an easily storable cocktail table – with the pouffs STAKing onto the table base. STAK comes with 2 different pouff height options and is perfect for a whole host of spaces – from cafes to reception areas, from event spaces to offices. And obviously our education clients LOVE them too!
STAK was a collaborative project which, together with Rock, we launched at Downtown Design earlier this year to a very warm reception, and we’re currently prepping the initial orders!
How the project came about:
Rock had originally designed the pieces in response to an unofficial brief given to him by Richard Wilson from Colab when discussing the need for adaptive furniture, something that easily stored, but could provide seating solutions for a variety of different uses of the space.?Once the initial concept was in place, Kidzink came on board as the Build Partner on the project which meant developing, prototyping and building the first run of products for the launch. Over the following couple of months, several of the Kidzink team were involved in the project, from our Prototyping guru Leonardo Capradossi , to our Partnerships Manager Daisy Primett .

But a product launch like this can’t happen without working in partnership with suppliers including global leader in design innovation Kvadrat and local?sustainable material disruptors ARDH Collective .
Danish company, Kvadrat produces high-performance, design textiles, rugs, window covering and acoustic solutions for both commercial and residential interiors.?Kvadrat joined the collaboration to supply fabrics for the STAK pouffs from their end-of-roll stock – small measures of fabrics at the end of each roll that were not likely to sell to contract clients. So we took the otherwise waste material, matched up all the correct quantities and colours and composed our launch colourways; one of which we dubbed the ‘Original 6’.
ARDH Collective , Polygood by The Good Plastic Company , NEOLITH and Canon EMEA joined the project, all of which supplied materials for the table tops.
This really was a project of collaboration, and we can’t wait to deliver STAK to your project!
