As customers continue to look for the best value for their money, discount retailers have seen a massive increase in sales as inflation continues to impact shoppers. Recent statistics have shown that Wilko was an outlier and 48% of shoppers are still changing supermarkets to cope with rising prices.
Official data confirms decrease in inflation ??
Once again inflation in the UK has eased, lower electricity and gas prices caused the drop as the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 6.8%. Although alcoholic drinks and tobacco continued to rise, many other products such as dairy and meat continued to drop in price.

Tesco replaces branded items with own-label alternatives???
The UK's most popular supermarket has made a massive change, overhauling nearly 2,000 stores in an attempt to make them more accessible to cash-strapped consumers. Fifty everyday products will be replaced with cheaper alternatives, many of these own-label replacements costing a third of the price.

Asda trials food to go service ?
The retailer has begun testing out its new idea by introducing 'the food hub' into its leicster and dagenham supermarkets. Offering a variety of sandwiches and cakes alongside barista made coffee, the food hub will provide the shop with a modern and welcoming look.

Quorn expands its frozen offering ??
The plant-based giant is launching two exciting new products into frozen aisles nationwide. Additionally, this new range will be released with NaviLens QR codes to increase accessibility for visually impaired shoppers. These QR codes will allow a shopper's phone to relay important information such as ingredients, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
FrieslandCampina plans UK launch ??
The European dairy giant has plans to release its vegetarian chicken range Tender'lish in the UK starting in early October. Following on from its massive success across Europe, FrieslandCampina is attempting to reinvigorate the UK meat-free category with its latest launch.
