Official AC-D Series Changeover Notice

Our latest mainline filtration range, the AC-D series, will now officially be front and centre following the announcement of the formal phase out of its predecessor the AC-A and AC-B series.?

Launched in 2022, the AC-D series answers to the call for a modular, modern air filtration solution – designed to enhance connectivity and productivity in the plant.

It’s improved look and feel significantly improves the range’s effectiveness in food grade facilities and the addition of food grade grease options and never-before-seen bacteria filtration further enhances the life span and effectiveness of food manufacturing equipment.?

Good Air Filtration is at the Heart of the Factory

It’s no secret that air treatment equipment is at the heart of every factory, and that any company using compressed air needs to ensure that the air running through their system is properly prepared for a long service life and the efficient equipment operation.

We understand the importance of quality air treatment, so much so, that much of their success was founded upon it. Born in Japan in 1959, SMC’s first solution – the FRL unit – was introduced in the 60’s and since then, SMC has continued to innovate in response to feedback received from the global and local markets.?

Over the years, SMC’s air filtration solutions have evolved to meet the changing needs of today’s factories and according to Robert Taylor, Product Specialist at SMC Corporation ANZ, the AC-D series has passed the test.? “We have spent the better part of two-years introducing and rolling out the series and we feel confident that it can meet the needs of even the most demanding factories.”

“As it stands, the AC-D series has been embraced by end users and leading OEMs across the country thanks to its clear benefits to industry,” he adds.

With the range now delivering a comprehensive suite of variations and sizes, Roberts shares that SMC has seen significant growth and new opportunities to deliver unique, tailored solutions to meet customers' specific requirements. “This modular range is not only designed for filtration but also flow metering, air saving monitoring systems, valving and safety options, making it one of the most expansive modular ranges on the market.”

Robert also highlights that one of the key benefits of the series is it’s ability to reduces the time needed to assemble clean air service units – all thanks to its new modular design.

”The series is also available in array of sizes to suit a various flow requirements and to help to minimise pressure drops.”

He notes that while the predecessor series can still be serviced in the immediate future, it’s strongly advised that customers embrace the new series moving forward.

“Like with the AC-A and AC-B series, we offer a wide variety of modular options for the AC-D series, including an air filter, regulator and lubricator combination, a filter regulator and lubricator combination, an air filter and regulator combination as well as an air filter, mist separator and regulator combination and a filter regulator and mist separator combination.”

For companies where tampering with devices is of concern, the AC-D series is also equipped with a lockable on-off valve that can be secured with a padlock for extra safety.

In addition, the AC-D series is compatible with other components to help control operations, these include:

?a) Electronic proportional regulators

?b) Air flow switches with integrated temperature and pressure sensing.

?c) Integrated pressure detecting

?d) Monitored air dump valves for safety circuits
