Welcome to Landmark, the LinkedIn Newsletter from Bruton Knowles.
We have kicked 2024 off with a bang, through the continued expansion of our National Teams, and moves to new offices across the country, allowing our customers to experience even better service.
The National Valuation team has continued to see growth across the Public Sector, while in Scotland various exciting projects are moving at apace, following 2023's office opening in Glasgow.
BK's Take On The Spring Budget
Following the Spring Budget, announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, our Managing Partner James Bailey has picked out a few points of interest.
"It was quite a dry Spring Budget on the whole, but nonetheless, there were a few items that will impact us and our clients.
"The news that up to £120m will be given to the Green Industries Growth Accelerator is welcomed, as new tech for supply chains, such as offshore wind and carbon capture is really necessary.
"The commitment to advancing manufacturing industries, to fund the growth of car and space innovation, to grow the 'zero-emission vehicle and clean aviation technology', is imperative, to continue the country on its path towards Net Zero and the increasing need for EV.
"The announcement of the rise in threshold for VAT registration going from £85,000 to £90,000, but not quite the £100,000 that was being rumoured, is positive, but ultimately we had hoped for that bit extra from the Budget.
"Nuclear power continues to be on the agenda, when it comes to clean energy, and we'd like to see the country become more of a leader when it comes to developing cutting-edge nuclear tech."
