Welcome back to Office Insider, the newsletter that takes you inside the latest happenings in and around the office interiors industry.
It's been a couple of weeks now since we were in London for Clerkenwell Design Week 2024 - what better time to look back and see what the OfficeMaster crew learned while there!
The Senator Group stun with new soft seating ranges that hit the sweet spot.
It was a pleasure to attend the Senator Group showroom in the heart of Clerkenwell - the ideal location for a place to relax momentarily and be inspired by their latest creations and collaborations. Daily breakfast and lunch were served followed by evenings of live music served with an array of expertly chosen drinks and cocktails. Our friends at Senator never fail to disappoint and this time was no different. We were treated to official launches, sneak peeks and updated versions of old favourites across their Senator, Allermuir and Torasen ranges. See below for a brief recap...
Uku
Uku, designed by Simon Pengelly (Pengelly Design), is a visually delicate lounge chair made from oak. Designed to be harmonious and balanced allowing Uku to elegantly fit into any setting. The range possesses a subtle Scandinavian influence where materiality, honesty, and warmth, the familiar characteristics of wood, are quietly abundant. Furthermore, the upholstered elements have a visually intuitive and inclusive relationship with the frame. A stunning piece that we're sure will be in demand for any space that requires something special from its lounge chairs.
Bastille Lounge
Bastille Lounge is an evolution of Bastille from Allermuir by an icon of French Design, Patrick Norguet . Bastille's generously contoured and curved silhouette is the definition of luxury. Bastille Lounge is a fusion of heritage and modernity that isn’t overdesigned. It’s restrained simplicity is delicate and timeless allowing Bastille Lounge to act almost like a chameleon, transitioning between corporate and hospitality settings. Bastille Lounge is available as a Club chair, 2 seater, and 3 seater sofa, complementing the existing range by acting as an extension to the family.
Norguets works represent the ideal union between fashion, design and a renowned “French touch” while some of his works are part of the permanent collections of prestigious museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Who is to say if Bastille Lounge will join them, but it is an exceptionally well-designed range and a most comfortable sit.
Y?so
Made purely from oak, Y?so is a fusion of craft and technology to create an elegant armchair rooted in traditional design characteristics but with a modern expression. Y?so’s subtle details are a true celebration of craftmanship and traditional design sensibilities that push have pushed the boundaries of manufacturing to reveal a product that honours the artistry inherent in Y?so’s design. Available in two finishes, oak and oak stained black.
Designer Samuel Wilkinson 's studio has received recognition globally, including notable design awards: Design of the Year from the London Design Museum and the Black Pencil from the D&AD. Wilkinson's designs have been included in the permanent collections of esteemed museums such as MoMA, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt Collection, The Art Institute of Chicago, and Design Museums in London and Helsinki.
Plum
Plum is a universal lounge chair with an exceptionally comfortable upright sit. While we have featured Plum on Office Insider before, Allermuir have now added a Plum Sofa, high back chair version, an armless version and a complementary pouffe to the range. The characterful collection is based on a series of ultra-soft pillow like structures that allow the internal structure of the chair to be hidden. Plum is as much at home in a hospitality setting as it is in an office lobby or informal meeting area.
Mark Gabbertas has a record of designing eye-catching pieces for Allermuir. having previously created Tommo and earned him numerous awards including a Red Dot and a Design Guild Mark for the design of Haven for Allermuir.

Camira launches revolutionary new fabrics
Using state-of-the-art digital print technology and created in collaboration with renowned textile designer, Kate Lawrie, Patternmaker’s four contemporary designs, Crosshatch, Dot Dash, Hula and Speckle, are brought to life on Camira's 100% pure new wool felted fabric base. Emulating a unique, hand-painted, artisan aesthetic, Patternmaker’s four designs work as a stand-alone piece or in unison, to bring chic and sophisticated style to a space.
The gentle, soft and earthy tones used in this collection are reminiscent of the natural world and inject subtle style and personality into hospitality, commercial and residential settings. Carefully curated for multiple applications, this collection is suitable for upholstery, soft furnishings and curtains and drapery.
With more than 25 years of experience in textile design, Kate Lawrie drew inspiration for Patternmaker from nature, art and architecture. Combining contemporary printed design with classic woven fabrics, the collection comprises two complementary colour palettes of cool-toned blues and warm honey-browns. The new collection is a celebration of both innovative printed design and classic woven fabrics and naturally complements Camira’s other ranges, sitting beautifully beside boucle wool textile, ‘Yoredale’ and pure new felted wool fabric, ‘Blazer’.
Inspired by sportswear, RePlay is a knitted texture fabric, made from 100% recycled polyester and TCPP free. A knitted appearance in a woven fabric, together with two-tone micro colour detail, creates a futuristic look that is straight out of the sports arena, onto furniture.
Made for the hybrid world, RePlay blurs boundaries and enjoys doing it. It’s here for the office at home, the workspace in the city, and the collaborative hub that’s anywhere in-between. With its cellular, knitted aesthetic and subtle surface texture, this fabric brings a contemporary look and feel to any, and every, space.
A 33-shade colour palette filled with personality, RePlay flips between the bold brights of an extrovert to the muted tones of an introvert, without missing a beat. It has the bestselling shades you know and love, trend-led hues with an eye on the future, and the timeless neutrals you can’t live without.
Penta is a worsted wool versatile textile for upholstery, panels, curtains, and acoustics. Penta takes its name from five delicately selected yarns which combine to create enticing, complex colours, and harmonious multi-tonal hues. Borrowed from Ancient Greece, the name Penta derives from the classical Greek ‘pente’, meaning five.
Colour woven, each of Penta’s 33 shades are intricately crafted using three different warp colours and two different weft colours; the singular yarns blend seamlessly together to create one iridescent colourway. The fabric’s unique construction creates a polychromatic effect, and the micro pattern detailing adds a touch of timeless beauty to commercial and residential interiors.
Resembling an artist’s paint palette, Penta’s vibrant and distinctive colourways work well together, as well as in isolation, making it a versatile textile for wide ranging applications including upholstery, panels, curtains and acoustics. Certified for commercial use, Penta achieves key FR standards and could form the base of an interior scheme, be used as an accent, or feature throughout. Penta works in harmony with other wool-rich fabric ranges from Camira including Sumi, Synergy and Blazer.

OfficeMaster host Cork Chamber's Networking at Noon
We were delighted to host Cork Chamber 's most recent networking at noon event. Over 80 representatives from across the Cork business community arrived at the our Cork showroom in Northpoint Business Park recently. They were joined by Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber and two people chosen to ‘soapbox’ on behalf of their business. These were?Gemma Power, Marketing Manager of Domino’s Pizza Ireland and Ailis Crowley, founder of FASH Forward, an award winning sustainability business that partners with their network of sustainable brands to host sustainability workshops on repair, upcycling and zero waste.
After the soapboxes, a speed networking session took place which proved to be a lot of fun. Speed networking allows everyone to meet a large number of their fellow attendees in a short amount of time. This is especially beneficial for busy professionals who may not have time for lengthy networking events. In addition, the structured and timed nature of speed networking can make it less intimidating than traditional networking events. As Conor Healy pointed out, it can also help participants hone their elevator pitch and communication skills, as they must clearly convey their value proposition within a limited timeframe. Every three minutes a bell would ring and each attendee would find a new partner to speak with for the following three minutes.
A fun and fantastic afternoon, with catering from Hannah’s Kitchen, Ballincollig to sweeten the deal. Keep an eye on our social media for similar upcoming events. One advantage of having such comfortable and eye-catching showspaces is that they are ideal settings for hosting events!
That's it for this edition. For more information, pricing, samples etc on any of the product or fabrics featured in the newsletter, just get in touch. We'd love to hear from you!
