Revolution by Camira
Camira Fabrics have this month launched 'Revolution'. The first fabric to be produced using Camira’s advanced textile recycling capability, iinouiio, Revolution uses waste wool yarn from their own manufacturing processes. Closing the loop and opening the door to a new era of sustainability, this pioneering product is available in 10 colourways, created using the original colouration of the recycled woollen fibres.
A change-making, industry-shaking fabric, Revolution is a breakthrough in textile circularity.
Bringing a new lease of life to high value wool, Revolution enables this precious natural fibre to be enjoyed all over again – as fabric, on furniture.
Camira have always championed sustainability and envrionmentally-friendly processes. Revolution follows hot on the heels of 'Oceanic', a fabric created entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic - from debris floating discarded in our seas, used to make SEAQUAL? YARN, to bottles thrown away and destined for landfill.
Check out the Revolution Story and Swatch Cards on our Resources page.
Clerkenwell Design Week
CDW the UK’s leading design festival, returned to London this past week with a stronger-than-ever programme. Taking place in the heart of Clerkenwell – historically a melting pot of craftsmen and makers, and now home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else in the world. Integral to the festival are the local resident design showrooms, who partner with Clerkenwell Design Week every year, providing the festival with a stimulating programme of topic-led events including talks, workshops and product launches. We were once again delighted to attend this years festival. A very worthwhile trip, it gives us an opportunity to connect with our existing manufacturers, network with industry colleagues and get a glimpse into the future of the office design and interiors industry. The Psychology of Colour in Office Design
When designing an office space, colour can be an essential aspect of the design process. Colour psychology is a concept that refers to how different colours can affect our mood, emotions, and behaviour. In office design, the psychology of colour is critical because it can have a significant impact on employee productivity, creativity, and overall well-being.
In our latest blog post, we explore the psychology of colour in office design and how it can be used to create a more productive and enjoyable workspace. Have a read here.
CPD Event with Chieftain Fabrics
OfficeMaster are hosting a CPD event next month in conjunction with Chieftain Fabrics . Titled 'Contract Fabrics and Environmental Sustainability', this presentation is worth 1 point and learnings will include:
The presentation will take place twice - once at our Waterford showroom on Wednesday 21st June at 9:30am and again the following day Thursday 22nd June at 9:30am in our Cork showroom. For full details and registration, click on the links below.
Chieftain, based in Trim, Co. Meath are a leading manufacturer of performance fabrics for over 60 years. Last year they launched 'Earthly', a fabric made from 100% recycled fibres. It is manufactured entirely from waste textiles, which may otherwise have gone to landfill. In fact, no dyes are used in its manufacture either. The source yarns are already pre-dyed, so each shade in the collection is developed through the careful selection and combination of those yarns.
We felt it was important to develop a range that did not rely on the textile dyeing process, but could still offer a wide selection of vibrant colours.
Take a look at the 20 colourways for Earthly and more specifications here.
That's it for issue ONE of Office Insider. Thank you for subscribing, we'll see you back here on June 30th for a round up of all next months big news, launches and innovations.
