I'll tell you honestly...I HATE certain aspects of the end-of-year holiday season. Heck, QVC's been running its sales since September already?(just a few weeks after Christmas in July ended!) and Hallmark started its 24/7 Christmas features looong before December.
But that doesn't mean some end-of-year marketing isn't warranted. A couple of reminders to current and potential health clients at this time of year can snag a new project...or even a new client.
Here are just a few ideas on health-related outreach you can do quickly and easily:
- ?Holiday cards--There are great online mailings specific to cards; I've loved Jacquie Lawson's for years...and it's free. Of course you can find templates in MailChimp and other email sites. For any clients or prospects truly special, get a few traditional paper ones for handwritten notes.
- Sales--OK, you're not telling folks it's their best chance to afford their new parka or laptop. But you can offer 10% (or more) off end-of-year classes or other services; e.g., their first consult, their next case study, etc.
- Virtual event--See the point above? You know there are tons of webinars you could offer but haven't had a chance to yet. Or maybe you have and it's been a favorite. Do it again with the goal of bringing in folks who couldn't make it this time.
- Donate together—Tell people you’ll donate $XXXX to your favorite charity when they sign on for _____________ …and fill in your service or virtual event. Or tell them on THEIR behalf you’ll donate dollars to one of XXX (choose a number)?charities…and show them which you’re offering; e.g., Doctors Without Borders, World Wildlife Fund, etc. If you’d like to attract locals, choose charities that may be lesser-known but do great work in your area. Or support a certain niche, like Healthcare for the Homeless.
- Another teamwork option—Maybe you know another healthcare group whose services complements yours. A company servicing senior communities, for example, could team with lawyers providing estate planning, or a nearby long-term care center.
Of course you can explore other options…but don’t take too long. Get the ball rolling now. Also use this time as a reminder for next year’s beginning quarter. ###
