OFF-SEASON TRAINING "A KEY TO MAJOR LEAGUE SUCCESS"?

OFF-SEASON TRAINING "A KEY TO MAJOR LEAGUE SUCCESS"

This season has been shortened for some, taken away from others, and ended the careers for so many players who got released this year - without even throwing a pitch or having an at-bat. I've been fortunate to train 4 players that have realized a life long dream and made it to the show this season (bringing my total to 112 MLB players) Baseball is a game of talent, but it's also a game of being in the right organization, playing the right position, at the right time. For the players that have been released or are thinking about moving on to a new career, I say "Congrats" !! You've accomplished an amazing goal - you became a professional baseball player !! This dream is only reached by a handful of players that have ever played this game !! For those players that are getting ready for the off-season - it's time to work harder and smarter then ever before !! I've talked to a lot of players this off-season and I regret to say that so many players have no idea how important the off-season is !! My concern comes from the players that have not made ANY gains in velocity (top end velocity or velocity endurance), increased power, or they've been dealing with health issues throughout their career - yet they stay with their same program year after year. At the end of the day YOU'RE responsible for your career !! If you're not improving each year - you're getting closer to the end of your playing days - that's just the reality of sports !! I know that each player in pro ball will get a workout from their organization that they're supposed to follow during the off-season. Most of these workouts are basic workouts that each person gets regardless of their goals. But again - YOU have to decide what's in your best interest !! !! You don't need to work with me, but search for a program that you believe will help you achieve your goals !!

NEVER BE SATISFIED !!!

Years ago I talked to a AAA player that had just won the Minor League Player of the Year Award. He decided to work with me after he had the best season in the minor leagues ??? I told him that with or without my help he was going to be in the Major Leagues the next year. His response made me understand why he was going to have a great MLB career (18 season in the Bigs and over 400 home-runs). He said that a former NL Rookie of the Year struggled during his second season and ended up getting sent back to AAA and that wasn't going to happen to him. This thought process made me really understand that the great ones are ALWAYS working to get better and they don't take anything for granted !!! Please make sure that you're always working to get better !!

NO GUARANTEES !!!

This is a much bigger decision then most players realize until it's too late. Recently, I had a former first round pick (2014) contact me to see if I'd still be willing to work with him. I had messaged him, like the messages that I’ve sent to numerous professional players. In his first 2 years he went from short season to starting in AAA. Last season he was released and finished the year in independent ball. He had everything right in front of him - but a couple injuries and a down year and now he's fighting for his baseball life. As you know - there are so many players trying to get the same job that you want, and it's about separating yourself from the competition. I truly believe that what I do for my clients is a true advantage. If you think that I'm just trying to sell you a program, please think about these two things. First - can you think of anyone in the country that has personally worked with over a 110 players that have made it to the Major Leagues !! Second - I'm willing to make you a free program so you can actually see and feel the difference.

MY BACKGROUND:

I’ve been the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach @ Wichita State for over 30 years. During this time, I’ve been fortunate to be part of one NCAA National Championship, as well as numerous College World Series appearances. Over this time, I’ve also been offered the Head Strength Coach position for 9 different Major League teams. Around 25 years ago I decided to start a “Weight-Training for Baseball” Consulting business. This was not only a way to increase my income, but it also gave me the chance to help baseball players all across the country reach their ultimate goal – to play in the MAJOR LEAGUES !! Once players, teams, and agents saw the results that my clients were achieving, I was overwhelmed with calls and requests to work with more and more players. At one point, I had over 80 professional baseball players that I was writing year-around personalized workouts for. I felt like my consulting business was taking too much time away from my family and I couldn’t continue like that. I knew that something had to change, so for roughly 8 years I didn’t take on any new clients - this was my way to downsize and to eventually discontinue my consulting business. About 4 years ago I decided that I wanted to start my consulting business back up. Over the last 4 years I’ve only worked with a total of 10 players – 3 have made it to the Major Leagues, 4 finished this past season in AAA (2 should’ve got called up this year but they weren’t on the 40-man), 1 was in High A, and the last 2 got released. These are very good numbers, but the players that got released will always bother me. When someone puts their faith in me, I take it very personal when they don’t reach their goals. I know that the odds of becoming a professional baseball player are incredible, and to make it to the Major Leagues the odds are almost unthinkable. With this in mind - I’ve been so blessed to have trained 108 players that made it to the Show !! This off-season I’ve decided it’s time to take my consulting business to a whole new level. During the 18 years that I was focused on my consulting business, I’ve averaged nearly 5 players a year making it to the Major Leagues. My current goal is to train another 42+ players that make it to the Major Leagues – I want to reach at least 150 !!

TESTIMONIALS FROM A FEW FORMER CLIENTS

Brian Tollberg

Kerry, one of the main reasons why I stood out in our organization was due to your workouts. No doubt in my mind I'm a career minor leaguer if I hadn't chosen to do your program. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity. Your workout program pushes you past what you believe you can do and gets the results you hope to achieve. For me, it was added stamina and 7 mph of extra velocity. Kerry...you were one of the primary reasons I -- 1) got to the big leagues, and 2) stayed for a while there. I bring your workouts up often to guys here on what it takes to reach the next level.

(Brian was one of my favorite clients – we worked together for a lot of years and he ALWAYS pushed himself so hard !! For some people who don’t know who Brian is – here are a couple things that demonstrate his work ethic and his journey via Wikipedia:

Tollberg began his professional career in 1994 with the Chillicothe Paints of the independent Frontier League[2] before signing as a free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers a year later. He then was traded by Milwaukee to San Diego in 1997, and made it to the majors in June 2000 with the Padres. Tollberg has the distinction of being the first ballplayer to make it to the Major Leagues from the Frontier League. As a result, the league's version of the Cy Young Award is named after him.)

Jorge Cantu

Thank you Kerry for your dedication, development and impact that you had in my early years of my career ! I Will never forget you ! My regards from Ciudad de Mexico !!

(Jorge Cantu could be one of my biggest success stories!! We started working together in 2003 – in his first 5 minor league seasons he had hit a total of 18 home-runs from rookie ball thru AAA. In 2004 Jorge started out in AAA – after 95 GAMES he was hitting OVER .300 with 33 DOUBLES, 22 HOME-RUNS, and 80 RBI'S!! He finished the year in Tampa Bay and EXPLODED the next season --- as Wikipedia says:

(In 2005, Cantú began the season expecting to play a utility man role, but due to the retirement of second baseman Roberto Alomar during spring training, he became the full-time second baseman. He showcased his talents, having a breakout year, and was named the Devil Rays Most Valuable Player by Tampa Bay sportswriters, after hitting .289 with 28 home runs, 117 RBI's, 40 doubles, and 171 hits in 150 games (80 at second base, 63 at third).

Pat Meares

What Kerry Rosenboom provides will keep you strong throughout the long , grueling professional season . Not only did I put on 25 pounds of muscle through this program , I added strength and endurance and learned to push myself to my maximum potential . I can honestly say , if not for Kerry Rosenboom’s work , I would not have gotten to the Major Leagues.

(Pat was a former 12th round pick of the Minnesota Twins. He played 8+ seasons in the Major Leagues)

Braden Looper

The weight training program of Kerry Rosenboom’s has been instrumental to the advancing of my baseball career . I have seen great strides in not only velocity , but in endurance from the use of his program . I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is looking for an edge in baseball .

(Braden was the 3rd pick in the 1996 MLB Draft. He was part of two World Series Championship teams - the 2003 Florida Marlins, as well as 2006 St. Louis Cardinals)

Greg “Boo” Mullins

Please feel free to use me or my story of being undrafted and weighing 150 lbs. Sr year of college and then partnering with u and 3 years later weighing 170 pounds and throwing 95 mph and pitching in the Bigs leagues. I am honored to have worked with you. I'm so grateful that the Lord crossed our paths. There are a so many intangibles in a professional athlete that are not God given. One is the willingness to seek help. I found the answer in you. I can truly say that if I would not have been on your program I would have never made it to the Big leagues. Yes there was talent, and a work ethic, but I had no idea how to get stronger. You took me from 87ish to 93-95ish - I still remember all those days Brian and I killed each other on the program in the gym. Because of your leadership, support and your program I can truly say it helps me every day provide for my family because of what You did for my career. For that I am forever grateful. Every time a kid or parent or someone in the media asks me how I made it: I answer simply Gods blessings, my parents sacrifice, and Kerry Rosenboom's strength program. Thanks buddy for all you have done for me and my family. I am forever loyal. I am also forever humbled by our relationship that the lord provided.

Sam Marsonek

If I could go back again, I wouldn't miss a single one of your workouts! Probably still be on the bump. No doubt best program I ever used! Lower body program was ridiculous! Hope all is well Kerry

(Sam was a former 1st round pick (24th overall) of the Texas Rangers and one of the best people that you’ll ever meet !! I started training Sam after he had Tommy John surgery)

Adam Roller

Really simple: I started w Kerry at 19 after being drafted (1996, no internet, just workout sheets, USPS and phone calls) and throwing 90 in HS. At 22 I was touching 97 sitting at 94. The workouts are not for the faint of heart. The leg workouts are specifically designed for Baseball. The perfect combination of strength and conditioning in my opinion. Plus he's a great man on and off the field.

ARE YOU ON A PROGRAM TAILORED TO FIT YOUR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS ?

As I talk to various professional baseball players - I'm shocked at how many players don't understand the true value of the off-season - as it relates to performance enhancement. This is the time that you can add velocity, improve your power potential, and change your body - whatever you need to do to advance in this game. I’ve seen players who are trying to gain weight on the same program for players that are trying to lose weight. I’ve seen players who have had injuries on the same workouts as players that have never been injured. When I talk to players about what they're doing here are a couple responses:

No alt text provided for this image
  • I do whatever my organization sends me. They don't understand the background of who made their workout, and if players have consistently gotten better. Sometime it's a first year intern ?? Do you really want to trust your career to someone that is just getting started ?
  • Some players say that they've worked with this person for years. As I look at their stats and scouting reports I see that they've struggled with health issues, a lack of power or declining velocity - why are you still doing the same thing that is not helping you progress ??
  • This week a player told me that his buddy wants to be a strength coach. He's putting him through workouts and it's going pretty good. This isn't about friendship, it's about getting better and becoming a Major League baseball player !!
  • I've talked to other players that say that the workout that they're on feels good. I can honestly say that I don't care if you feel good when you're done - I want you to know that you got better today !!
  • I'd love to work with you but I'm coming off Tommy John (or another arm injury). I've had so many guys train with me after coming off an arm injury. If someone wants to come back better then ever you need to crush your lower-body. But at the same time you need to know how and what to do. I won't have anyone put a bar on their shoulders if they're just coming off an elbow or shoulder injury. Also, if someone is coming off an upper-body injury you must know how and when to progress in their upper-body lifting routine.

HOW DOES MY PROGRAM OR EXPERIENCE DIFFER FROM THE PROGRAM THAT YOU'RE CURRENTLY FOLLOWING OR WHO YOU CURRENTLY TRAIN WITH ?

  • I’ve trained players on EVERY team in the Major Leagues
  • I’ve trained over 85 pitchers that have thrown at-least 96 MPH.
  • I’ve worked with professional baseball players from short-season all-stars all the way up to major league all-stars.
  • I’ve been offered the head strength coach's position with nine Major League teams.
  • I’ve trained athletes whose combined salaries are well over a billion dollars.
  • I’m one of the few strength coaches in the country to have pitched collegiately.
  • Through my consulting business I’ve trained over 110 players that have made it to the Major Leagues. This list includes players such as Paul Konerko, Adam LaRoche, Jorge Cantu, Nate Robertson, Doug Mientkiewicz, Mike Lansing, Brian Tollberg, Mike Pelfrey, Kevin Gryboski, Tommy Hottovy, Lee Stevens, Pat Meares, Darren Dreifort, Casey Blake, Braden Looper, Doug Mirabelli, John Bale, Rocky Cherry, and Corey Koskie just to name a few (These players are now retired – I’m currently training players in the Major Leagues, but I’ll never mention their names until their career is over – I don’t want them being hassled by their current organization – I just want them to have long and healthy careers!!)

HERE'S HOW MY PROGRAM WORKS:

I've had numerous professional baseball players and agents ask me if they need to come to Wichita to train with me or if they're able to do it while they're home for the off-season. I hope that this explains how it works:

I run my "Weight-Training for Baseball" Consulting Business from my home in Wichita Kansas. I have a unique business because it is all done via internet & phone calls. I talk to my clients on the phone & see what they need, as well as advising them on other things that might help them reach their goals. After that, I'll email them a test sheet to find their current strength levels, such as Incline Dumbbell Bench ___ x 8 reps or Leg Press ___ x 10. On the email, I'll also attach numerous 20-30 second video demonstrations of each lift. This way I'm confident that each player will know the exact technique needed for each lift. Once I find out a client’s strength levels I'll plug their weights into their individualized workout. I'll then email the workout to my client and call them so we can go over everything step-by-step. I make sure that I also call or text each client every week or so and check-in and see how the workouts are going.

My program is not for everyone - you need to have a great work ethic and desire to be the best. If you need someone personally pushing you every minute, my program is not for you. Of my clients that have made it to the Major Leagues (108) I have only seen 15-20 in person. If you need a personalized program to follow and have the dedication and work ethic to carry out the plan, my program is for you !! If you'd like to try a free 4-week personalized workout just message me and I'll get you started !! If you decide to continue for the rest of the off-season the cost is only $450.00 (In the past I was paid 1% of a player’s major league salary with a cap at $10,000) plus I’ll supply you with personalized in-season workouts if you’d like – at no cost. After the four weeks is up you can either continue with me or go back to your previous workout. I’m confident that after trying my program you’ll want to continue with me, if not, hopefully you’ll have picked up something that will be a good addition to what you’re currently doing.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A GREAT OFF-SEASON

If you truly want to be a Major League baseball player you need to push yourself every day and even that doesn't guarantee success !! Having worked with over 100 players that have made it to the Major League - I believe that I have a program that players can believe in !! If I can ever help you reach your goals, please never hesitate to drop me a message ([email protected]) or a text (316-617-3056) !! This is not a big financial gamble and the results could change your career. Take Care & God Bless, Kerry
