OFF MUTE: AdColor Conference 2024

I am filled with joy? and inspiration after an unforgettable experience at ADCOLOR 2024! This year’s theme, Off Mute, speaks to? the recognition that silence is no longer an option. Like in every script, a call to action can change an entire outcome, here’s yours for today: be unapologetically loud and audacious in your dreams, and continue to invest in yourself because you and your dreams recognized will be a gift to the world.

“OFF MUTE”

The theme Off Mute encapsulated the urgency of this moment. As I shared during a fireside chat, embracing my voice—whether as a Latina, a woman, or a trailblazing entrepreneur—has been key to my journey. Staying silent in the face of challenges was never an option; instead, I leaned into every opportunity to reimagine what was possible. From building Seven Bucks Productions to co-owning the UFL? and leading The Garcia Companies universe, I’ve always believed in the transformative power of amplifying diverse voices.

THE CAST

There’s no script to this thing called life, but we are given a cast of people to help see us through the story that unfolds. My cast is my foundation, the people who placed in me a call to action in crafting inclusive spaces that honor and celebrate differences throughout my career. One example of my foundation was specifically shaped by the women in my family, my grandmother and great-grandmother, who, defying cultural norms, took up space unapologetically. Their courage and determination taught me to honor my agency and carry their legacy.?

THE MISSION

During the fireside chat, I reflected on defining moments in my journey like pursuing ventures like entertainment and navigating spaces where I was often the only woman in the room.

The conversations we had reaffirmed the importance of the ADCOLOR mantra: Rise Up, Reach Back. This philosophy is deeply woven into my work. From building an all-women executive team at The Garcia Companies to creating space for representation, empowering others to do their best work and live a fulfilling life. I remain dedicated to creating space for those coming up behind me.

LOOKING AHEAD

Being recognized as a Beacon honoree is more than an individual accolade, it’s a responsibility to continue building universes where everyone belongs and a testament to the power of relentlessly chasing your dreams and having the fortitude to invest in yourself for the benefit of all. As I shared at ADCOLOR, one of my guiding philosophies is: Trying is my superpower. It’s not about winning every time but about evolving, learning, and pushing boundaries.

To my 12-year-old self and to everyone aspiring to break barriers—I say: embrace your creativity, trust your intuition, and show up boldly. Unlock your greatest moment, knowing it won’t be your last. We are being loud, building representative universes, and rewriting the rules of business and culture because the world needs us—off mute.
