Millions of eyes and ears from around the globe look out for every next update of artificial intelligence. Every now and then, with new inventions and breakthrough research conclusions, such as big data, deep learning and cheap parallel computing, the future prospects of AI seem to be bright. Not to mention the chills it gives us when we see a new game series hitting transformers or virtual robotic fights like never before.

An interesting research some time back showed that a 4-year-old preschooler kid might actually have more intelligence than an AI system, known as the ConceptNet4. The above stated judgement is on the accounts of multiple reasons, the strongest one being a better common sense in the child.

Machines cannot be programmed to inculcate intuition pertaining the physical world. This will require huge extensive calculations that still might face issues while addressed with open-ended questions. They also lack common sense that humans develop as a part of rich life experience that develops the subconscious knowledge of the world. The reason here for a step back via AI systems is that no such existing AI system can exist or even function without a pre-provided human context.

It is further believed that the future of artificial intelligence will be able to program AI systems that will operate without the requirement of human provided context, this is referred to as singularity. Though reaching this stage will be one of the biggest breakthrough responsible for the advancement of artificial intelligence, in addition to which there are predictions that it might just take us near to human threats or even extinction!
