OET Writing skills

The OET Writing test assesses your ability to write clear, concise, and accurate English in a professional context. The test consists of two tasks:

  • Referral Letter:?You will be given a set of case notes and asked to write a referral letter for the patient. The letter should include the patient's medical history, the reason for the referral, and the specific information that you want the recipient to know.
  • Summary of Patient Notes:?You will be given a set of patient notes and asked to write a summary of the patient's condition. The summary should be clear, concise, and accurate, and it should highlight the key points of the notes.

The OET Writing test is scored on a scale of 0 to 50, with 50 being the highest score. The following criteria are used to assess your writing:

  • Content:?The content of your writing should be relevant to the task, accurate, and complete.
  • Organization:?Your writing should be well-organized and easy to follow.
  • Language Use:?Your writing should use appropriate grammar, vocabulary, and style.
  • Accuracy:?Your writing should be free of errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
