ODSC West is Next week, LLM Distillation, Mastering LLMOps, and ML Evaluation Tools
Open Data Science Conference (ODSC)
The leading applied data science and AI conference, with 4 global events and nearly 180 meetups worldwide every year.
Time is running out to get your pass to the can’t-miss technical AI conference of the year. Our incredible lineup of speakers includes world-class experts in AI engineering, AI for robotics, LLMs, machine learning, and much more. Register here before we sell out!
In this article we will talk through the steps required to distill a large, state of the art model to a smaller sibling model.
Machine learning can easily become a tool for p-hacking, where we torture the data-finding patterns that are coincidental rather than meaningful.
This post is meant to walk through some of the steps of how to take your LLMs to the next level, focusing on critical aspects like LLMOps, advanced prompt engineering, and cloud-based deployments.
There are lots of checkmarks to hit when developing responsible AI, but thankfully, there are many tools for ML evaluation and frameworks designed to support responsible AI development and evaluation.

Upcoming Webinars, Meetups, and Ai+ Live Training Sessions
Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, 11:00 AM ET
Join Sheamus McGovern, Founder of ODSC (The Open Data Science Conference), and Ali Hesham, Data Engineer at Ralabs, for an insightful session on enhancing AI applications through Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, 12:00 PM ET
Getting your data RAG-ready for usage within LLM’s is no easy task. When your data consists of various patient chart document types (e.g. PDFs, HTML, PPT not to mention handwritten notes) you will have your work cut out for you. Join us in a workshop where we will structure healthcare patient data for usage with LLM’s. With the help of ‘unstuctured.io’ packages we will transform, clean, chunk, generate summaries and embeddings, then write our ‘structured’ healthcare data to a vector database (weaviate) where it can be used to interact with LLMs or Chatbots.
Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, 01:00 PM
In this talk, we will explore the critical need for fairness in AI-driven healthcare, with a focus on mitigating bias in machine learning models. As AI systems become more integrated into healthcare diagnostics, addressing the disparities in model performance across diverse ethnic groups is paramount. This session will present a technical deep dive into the challenges of bias in medical imaging datasets and the resulting impact on healthcare outcomes for underrepresented populations.
Thursday, November 14th, 2024, 6:00 PM?—?8:00 PM ET
In NYC on November 14th? Join us for an in-person meetup with Google Cloud, where you’ll build meaningful connections with fellow AI enthusiasts over an expert-led talk, casual conversation, and celebration.
