Dear Reader,
Happy September!
Let’s get straight to the point: we know this year has been anything but peaceful. With full-schedules and the switch to remote work, we’ve had many new project requests and requests for new services. I’m happy to say that we are continuing to meet all of our demands and continue to manage to grow in a scalable fashion that allows us to keep our special culture and exceed our clients’ expectations for results.?
Let’s talk about burn-out especially as we head into a very busy fall. I personally was doing 15-20 calls a day for a very long time, and it hit me hard, such that by the end of August, I had trouble looking at my calendar without some deep breathing. It was time to accelerate as we are well-positioned to help many companies get high-quality teams and help many women get jobs during a global pandemic. But I was tired!?
So after 826 days of being online building Odetta, I finally took two weeks off (a feat I have never achieved in any job, much less a startup just over two years old). I managed to read nine books with my phone on airplane mode, as I stayed with my family in Stonington, Connecticut. Three insights from my offline experience: my team was able to function without me, in fact, I saw areas where I was playing a role that was not required. Second, I have six Virtual Assistants and we were able to simulate me working from an outbound sales perspective and the machine just worked. August was our largest month to date in terms of revenue. Third, I was able to recharge after two weeks away and now feel rejuvenated, and I think I avoided burnout. I spent 2 weeks admiring Atticus in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, seeing myself in Frances Nolan in Betty Smith’s A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, or thinking a lot about BLM in the context of Toni Morrison’s Beloved.
If we can play any role in freeing up time for you such that you can go offline to read, or just have more time to invest in yourself or your loved ones, that would make our day. Odetta is the type of company where I think everyone needs it. I can literally throw a dart in any room and find an Odetta customer. So we will continue to build out our talent pool knowing that if we build it, you will come.?
Thanks for all of your support to date and have a wonderful fall!
All the best,?

Monthly Spotlight: Scoring for Classification Models
The Odetta team has recently excelled at scoring for classification models. This means that clients can create a drop-down scoring methodology to store documents and web pages. Then, our team can score webpages as per your requests. For example, if you want to know how likely a certain company is to become a customer or whether they would use your product, we have capacity to handle higher-complexity analysis that you wouldn’t trust other outsourcing companies to do. This data can be used for classification algorithms, and because we have thorough quality control, you never have to worry about the accuracy of the project. We take pride in having a perfect success and satisfaction rating with our scoring for classification models and are excited to take on new projects.

Sincerely,
The Odetta Team

“Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere. It's not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that. It's about baking a new pie.” —?Gloria Steinem
