An ode to Samyak's innocence
Dr Sukhamaya Swain
I am shaping the future, educating... An academic, banker, researcher, storyteller, and climate change thinker!
Wet lip touches in return of kisses,
We shall miss them someday.
Single letter pronunciation in return to every new word spoken to you,
We shall miss them someday.
Only calling “Mama” and “Bapa” as two full words despite passage of 20 moons,
We shall miss them someday.
Thinking every physical object to be an eatable,
We shall miss them someday.
The glaze in his eyes when encountering a new thing,
We shall miss it someday.
Missing objects found in “horribly” wrong places,
We shall miss them someday.
Making typical faces when denied an object of interest,
We shall miss them someday.
The uncanny humming sounds which emanate when you view / hear an old B/W number,
We shall miss them someday.
The typical nodding of the head upon tasting something nice,
We shall miss that someday.
Huddling around the plates when family members eat,
We shall miss that someday.
Believing that the only way to wake up your elder son is by sitting on his chest,
We shall miss that someday.
Playing tantrums with and troubling the only companion for most hours of everyday,
She shall miss them someday.
Honing up his craft skills with the pages of books when his elder brother is reading,
We shall miss them someday.
Seeking sadistic pleasure in misplacing my bookmarks,
I shall miss that someday.
The warm hugging on to my trousers when I reach home,
I shall miss them someday.
Whatever you are and whatever you may do today,
We shall miss this part of your life someday.
Whatever you become in future and whatever you may do in future,
We can wish the best of wishes blended with His Blessings.
