Ode to the one word ad.
My favorite kind of ad is the one word ad.
The human race, across time, space, age, cultures and countries, united by a word.
Nothing captures just how similar we are like a montage of a word repeated across unrelated contexts, each time meaning something ever so ever slightly different, but really all still the same.
A full spectrum of human emotion conveyed only by tones and subtleties in close sequence.
These days we try to do so much with every ad.
More brand cues.
More explanation.
Bigger logos.
But often, the richer and universal the insight, the fewer words are needed.
It's often restraint that makes the most memorable work.
Here's the the one word ad.
And a few of my favorites.
And two honorable mentions-- without even the word part.
I'm always looking to add to my collection.
