An Ode to my Calculator

In 1995, I wrote a love poem to my calculator.
Don't judge me: I was seventeen at the time and madly in love with mathematics i.e. young and dumb. Years later my son's love for mathematics reminded me of my "old flame" and the "glory days".
I couldn't hold back my poetic self, so many years later:
O calculator, sweet calculator...
You were always at my side.
From algebra to trigonometry,
You were the passion in my stride.
?
Sometimes just irrational,
And then charmingly complex.
You thrilled me with your numbers,
And you sparkled like a Rolex.
?
O calculator, dear calculator...
You had such fancy buttons.
You needed just a millisecond,
To start so many discussions.
?
We laughed in geometry papers,
And you knew my calculus scores.
I left you out for history,
But you knew, I was truly yours.
?
O calculator, my calculator...
There is something that I need to say,
It has been so many years now,
But I'll never forget the day…
?
When the computers replaced you,
And reduced you to an app,
You're now a bunch of pixels,
And they tossed you in the scrap.
?
O calculator, O calculator…
I kept this poem alive,
It's all that now remains,
Of a love that could not survive.
