ODE TO MR. ROGERS (FRED)

Thank you for being my neighbor,

Telling me I can never go down the drain,

That you liked me for just being me.

Lyrics perforate and have significance.

They have the authority to change all of God's creatures,

The clout sanctioned a child to believe in the power of make-believe,

And more importantly, in herself.

What an endowment you were to creation,

My champion, my ally, my neighbor. -Jill Bonsteel

    Thank you!

I recently stumbled across John Donne’s “No Man is an Island.” It is a poem I have often thought of and love.
