1. Sense & Explore
Curiosity fuels exploration. Curated resources that might come in handy.
- OrgHacking: We really enjoyed reading Itamar’s takeaways from Barry Johnson’s And book about dealing with polarities. The post focuses on the polarity archetype that has to do with the tension between “continuity” and “transformation”.
Other labels often used to describe this tension include: being/becoming, expansive/focused, traditional/innovative, familiar/new, stability/change.
The core polarity is captured in this polarity map:
On the one hand, there is a force attempting to Transform the situation. It is moving from “Missing” something valued, which is seen as a problem (-B), to “Going After” that which is “Missing,” which is a vision for a preferred future (+C).
On the other hand, there is a force for Continuity. It is moving from avoiding the loss of something valued (-D) to “Holding On” to it with great pride (+A).
- Open Digital Ecosystems: An interesting exploration by Omidyar Network India in partnership with BCG, about Open Digital Ecosystems (ODEs) - open and secure Digital Platforms that enable a Community of actors to unlock transformative solutions for society, based on a robust Governance framework.
A study to reimagine digital platforms for the public good, with the aim to build a shared narrative around digital platforms and develop a holistic roadmap to foster their systematic adoption.
If your work intersects with digital transformation, we invite you to explore the whole toolkit here.
- Institute For the Future: Next pick is a basic foresight tool from the IFTF team - Cross-Impact Matrix.
Cross-Impact Matrix helps visualize intersecting, complex futures and systematically identify threats, opportunities, and critical insights. It’s a simple, but profound, matrix of forecasts mapped against impact zones.
- Career Fair: Reading about the concept of passive face time (research paper here) made us think about its impact on evaluating people performance in a hybrid or distributed work environment.
- Dubberly: We really enjoyed browsing these concepts maps, created by the Dubberly Design Office. While many of the maps are not related to Strategy & Organization topics, we think they might inspire you when aiming to create shared understanding of complex matters in the world of work.
Concept maps are a type of model created to explore and learn about complex information spaces. By showing everything—the forest and the trees—in a single view, concept maps help people create mental models and clarify thoughts.
Example: Explaining baseball in one page (PDF here)

Understanding new concepts and putting them into practice.
We’re working hard to develop the Guide to Dynamic Stakeholder Mapping, including a thorough concept explanation, an overview of its practical use cases and guidance for deciding where to apply it in your work.
We’ll launch the guide next week.
Thank you to the 40 readers who showed their support by joining the waiting list.
