October Update

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community –

Our project was designed for completion.

Three years, ten cities, and ten thousand on-chain CryptoCitizens. That's what we are focused on accomplishing.

Everything else — the market, the price, the hype — is just noise. We don't expect everyone to get it, but the ones who do understand the importance of what we've set out to achieve.

Good thing too, because we can't do it alone. Thanks to everyone who has been part of our journey.

Onto Buenos Aires.

Operations Update

In September we:

  • Visited Paris to identify venues and finalize the artist lineup for the Paris Collection in February 2024.
  • Announced Hashmarks by 0xDEAFBEEF: a grid of 100 unique hand forged iron sculptures, a cryptographically linked set of digital tokens, and a site specific happening in Patagonia.
  • Sold 50 IRL Hashmarks mint passes for ~3 ETH and airdropped the remaining mint passes to our collective communities.
  • Started moving our team to Buenos Aires and hosted several meetups to begin growing our CryptoPatagonian community.
  • Launched the Golden Token and Buenos Aires Collection sales. The Buenos Aires collection presale sold out in ~48 hours and the Golden Token sale is nearly complete, with fewer than 10 tokens remaining.
  • Minted projects by Stefano Contiero and Pedro Falco at Glitch gallery during Art Blocks weekend in Marfa and shared more about our upcoming plans for Buenos Aires.
  • Hosted Human Made in Berlin with the ntent team, an analog generative art exhibition.
  • Expanded the Dream Machine installation, a voice-to-video AI interface created by Huemin, to our international gallery network.
  • Made big progress on our display app, including launching self-service onboarding. We're getting very close to being ready to share more here.

In October we plan to:

  • Finalize the production details for Bright Moments Buenos Aires beginning on November 2nd.
  • Begin moving our team to Argentina while maintaining an ongoing presence in our local communities with events.
  • Mint our latest artist-in-residence fuse* and their generative AI project, Unseen Flora. Unseen Flora will have a dedicated exhibition during London Frieze week on October 11th.
  • Airdrop 333 CryptoPatagonian minting appointments to CryptoCitizen holders.
  • Host Cory Haber in NYC for his latest drop, Apophenies, which combines generative code, plotters, and oil painting. Apophenies goes on sale October 12th to coincide with his opening exhibition.
  • Host Dreamforum UK on October 12th in London, an extension of our ongoing efforts into generative AI in collaboration with Deforum and Huemin. Dreamforum UK will feature the second drop we've done with Ira Greenberg, for his new project Materia Moda.
  • Announce details for our final two CryptoCitizen cities in Paris and Venice next year.

Asks:

  • We are looking for great additions to our Buenos Aires community. If you know someone who is excellent across many domains and would make Bright Moments better, please introduce them to us so we can welcome them into the DAO.
  • We are preparing to close our display app pilot in preparation for a public announcement. If you or someone you know wants a better way to display generative art, please respond to this email and we'll reach out with more details.
