October Update 2023

We seem to find ourselves in October this week, to the surprise of many (and maybe even the horror of a few), after such a warm and wet end to September… If Autumn is your thing, rejoice!, and if the glimmer of Christmas on the horizon brings you anxiety this time of year, don’t worry: Trivet has you covered this October with both seasonal celebrations this month and enticing plans set for the festive future.

Last month at Trivet

MONDAYS AT LABOMBE WINE BAR HAVE LAUNCHED!

On Monday 11th September, we opened our long-imagined Wine Bar side project - LaBombe - and we have had an incredible response from our friends of Trivet; thank-you so much to everyone who’s joined us so far! There’ve been some amazing wines available specially by the glass (such as this beautiful Meursault, above), as well as our Monday bistro-style menu, offering a diversion from the more formal classic Trivet experience. If you haven’t popped in to try Jonny’s focaccia yet and take advantage of the amazing Monday wine list by the glass, where on earth have you been?

Although reservations are by no means mandatory on Mondays, you can book with us if you’d prefer, via the usual methods: >>Make Reservation.

If you’re a fellow hospitality worker, we’d love to see you on your mandatory Monday off, too: don’t forget that those studying for a WSET qualification receive wine bottles at takeaway price throughout the week at Trivet. We also have a new partnership with TRADE Hospitality, offering TRADE members £18 off all bottles, only on Mondays!


TASTING CLUB EXPLORATIONS: A JOURNEY FROM TBILISI TO PORTO

On Saturday 9th September, we hosted a classic Trivet Tasting Club event: exploring an array of different red varieties that share similar characteristics, on a journey from Tbilisi in Georgia all the way across Europe to Porto, Portugal. This was a lovely opportunity for our Trivet Tasting Club members and guests to explore some surprise varieties, pick some favourites, wax lyrical on a broader spectrum of wine across Europe, and we must thank everyone who came on the day for joining us; it was an absolute pleasure to host! The October Tasting Event: Chardonnay for Everyone

This month, we’re stirring the pot and bringing a simple but somewhat contentious wine topic to the Trivet Tasting Club… CHARDONNAY.

Chardonnay's first mention goes back to the 16th century, and - since then - it's been the darling of the wine maker; easy to grow and with characteristics that make it open to multiple winemaking techniques once picked. With this global success - however - came a push back, where people have started to refuse any variation of the grape.

We believe that there is a Chardonnay for everyone, and we are determined to prove this in our October tasting!

Join us in our main dining room, on the evening of Monday 16th October, where we’ll be tasting an array of different interpretations of a grape loved by some and maligned by others! Find out more about ‘Chardonnay for Everyone’ and buy tickets

Autumn Fruit, Game and Foraging

We are so excited to work with our British suppliers this season, as the warm start to the Autumn period brings in some amazing produce. Expect plenty of mushrooms and new game options to creep into all of our menus… For all of those lamenting the end of the sun-soaked lunches on the terrace, why not join us for lunch in the wine bar or restaurant, where our more relaxed Terrace Menu has transformed into the Trivet Lunch Menu, served from 12pm-3pm, Wednesday-Saturday…

Our most popular dynamic is the use of our Mustard Room, which seats between 8 and 30 guests for formal (or informal!) dining. We have some amazing set menu dishes taking shape for the coming months, and never forget that we can offer special wine pairings and even tastings with the team for those who can be tempted. If you have a larger gathering, there is the also the option of hiring the whole restaurant for the full Trivet experience!
