October Recap: New Horizons, Team Triumphs, and Festive Cheer

Hey there! It’s been eventful these past few months at Codewave. We’re excited about launching a new team in Australia—a big win for us! This strategic decision helps us stay customer-centric while also redefining the boundaries of collaboration. The past few months have also been festival-laden, giving us many opportunities to celebrate and showcase our artistic side. Read on to know what’s been happening at our headquarters.

Australia, here we come!

Our founders, Abhijith HK and Vidhya Abhijith , recently completed a multi-city tour around Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. From consultants to brand agencies, they connected with many potential customers and go-to-market partners, setting the stage for Codewave’s southern expansion. The pulse:

  • AI is omnipresent, and there’s much excitement around it.
  • Australian entrepreneurs and innovators seem driven to build the next big unicorn, like Canva or Atlassian.
  • We also heard concerns about outsourcing and job migration outside Australia.

Our solution to this is collaboration.

We’re building a UX-focused team right here in Australia, staying close to the user while seamlessly integrating with our tech and AI teams in India. We’re excited to tap into Australian talent and partner with the country’s boldest innovators.

Reimagining learning with AI video experiences

We’re delighted to announce our collaboration with Meksi.com, from Australia that is revolutionizing medical education with AI, as we help propel their organic growth to the next level!

Celebrating MVPs on Glue

Every team has its Most Valuable Player (MVP), and now our Glue app makes celebrating these standout individuals easier than ever. With the new MVP feature, team members can vote for their top contributor, recognizing those who make a lasting impact across projects. Traditionally, choosing an MVP might involve a team vote, but now it’s simpler, fairer, and eliminates any awkwardness. This feature shines a spotlight on those who consistently go above and beyond, honouring their valuable contributions in a meaningful way.

Making growth a priority

At Codewave, we conduct half-yearly reviews that allow our team members to assess and modify their approach to work. This October, we concluded our Peerly Feedback Cycle, part of our ongoing framework for constructive, peer-driven feedback. These reviews for the cycle from April to September saw team members evaluating each other on dependability, competence, self-management, team play, and impact. Peerly Panel Members, using qualities like empathy and objectivity, guide the process, bringing fresh perspectives to each cycle.

After an assessment, the GROW framework (goal, reality, options, and way forward) helps participants set goals and identify actionable next steps. This cycle reinforces our commitment to a growth-focused culture that values collaboration, individual development, and the collective progress of our team.

Lighting up for Deepawali

Our office was abuzz with Deepawali celebrations this month, all thanks to the creativity and enthusiasm of our team! Planned entirely by our employees, the day was filled with festive games, colourful decor, and a potluck where everyone shared their favourite dishes, adding a personal touch to the festivities. Following the success of last month’s Ganesha-making competition and Onam celebrations, this Deepawali brought us all together in the spirit of joy and camaraderie, creating lasting memories for everyone.
