Last month, we were involved in two remarkable projects that demonstrate our commitment to making a difference in different communities.

Empowering Refugees: Teaching the Value of Plastic Waste

In collaboration with CARE International In Uganda , we conducted a groundbreaking initiative in Kyangwali refugee settlement, Bunyoro . Our project focused on educating and creating income-generating opportunities for refugees through plastic waste management. We passionately believe that by empowering individuals and providing them with skills, we can create a ripple effect that leads to economic independence and improved living conditions.

Our dedicated team of experts worked tirelessly to design practical training programs aimed at teaching refugees the art of turning plastic waste into valuable resources. This not only helps reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste but also transforms it into a source of income for the refugee community. Through this project, we witnessed firsthand the resilient nature of the participants and their determination to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Building Resilient Communities: Enhancing Urban Migrants' Livelihoods

As urban migration continues to rise across Jinja City, Ecoplastile and Cities Alliance recognizes the need to offer support to those who face the challenges of urban living. In our effort to enhance the resilience of urban migrants, we launched a project in collaboration with local government authorities (Jinja City Council) and relevant NGOs like Ensibuuko , ACTogether . This project focused on creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for urban migrants through skill development and capacity building. The project included hands-on workshops, mentorship programs, and job placement assistance, ensuring a holistic approach towards their journey to self-sufficiency.
