Market insights:
Talent demand shifts with increased deal activity
Matthew Ambrose-Hunt,?Associate, provides an overview of the finance leader trends in Q3 and the impact of the increased deal activity has had on the talent market. ??
After a slow two years for capital markets, funds are now starting to deploy their dry powder. Q2 of this year saw the highest rate of PE activity for two years* – with aggressive deals involving growth stage acquisitions, secondary buyouts and de-listings picking up.
In response, our work at Bronzegate has shifted, pivoting to support deal activity after a two year stretch of mid-cycle appointments. Q3 has seen 90% of our placements being deal related, with an unseasonal level of work taking place over the summer months.
This new market context has given rise to notable talent trends, including change management and FP&A.?

By using our pre-existing, pan-European network of interim professionals and combining it with diligent local research, Bronzegate were able to deliver a shortlist within two days. The candidates were a blend of known and new candidates.
This search resulted in the appointment of an experienced, German-speaking interim CFO to lead both the carve out of HiSERV?from parent company, AVECO, and oversee the acquisition of two significant bolt-on acquisitions that had been bought simultaneously. ?
The entire process from briefing to appointment took eight?working days, in spite of it taking place during August.
