Welcome to the October installment of Energy Panorama. It has been a busy and productive month!
On October 16-17, we convened our XXXIII annual La Jolla Energy Conference. Short summaries from each day of the La Jolla Energy Conference were shared on LinkedIn:?Day 1, October 16.?and?Day 2, October 17.
Also, as part of our post-La Jolla Energy Conference wrap-up, we are pleased to share our rapid recap and key takeaways. The recap document counts summaries from select sessions and offers a preview of our more comprehensive conference summary report by first providing a quick readout of crucial discussion themes. Stay tuned next month for our complete conference summary report.
During the La Jolla Energy Conference, the Institute of the Americas and ARPEL, the Latin American Association of Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy Companies, signed a strategic engagement MOU to deepen institutional collaboration and coordination.
Just prior to the conference, we relaunched our “Geopolitics of Energy and Climate Change” workshop for a small group of journalists from Guyana and Mexico. The journalists gather with analysts and energy company executives from across the region to analyze, discuss and consider key elements of the energy sector in Latin America and the world.
On October 23-24, we were in Sonora, Mexico for the latest edition of our Energy Ambassadors workshop series in collaboration with Sempra Infrastructure.
A short summary from the workshop was shared on LinkedIn just after it was completed.
We ended the month participating in Energy Week, hosted by OLADE in Asuncion, Paraguay. Jeremy Martin presented a summary of our report "Rethinking the Role of Natural Gas to Accelerate Decarbonization in Latin America and the Caribbean." The report was developed in collaboration with CAF -Development Bank of Latin America and as part of the strategic relationship between CAF and IOA.
As we head toward the end of the year, we are looking forward to our joint event with CEBRI in Brazil, Regional integration as catalyst for the energy transition, set for December 11 in Rio de Janeiro. It will be a unique discussion and forum centered around the dual currency of electrons and molecules for deepening integration and decarbonization.
