It's spooky season! The clocks have gone back and the nights are now drawing in as we approach the end of 2024! Find out what we have been up to here at Leviat below ??

Move over Oscars and Grammys! Now it’s awards season!

November is awards season in the Construction Industry and in the next 2 weeks Leviat is attending both the Brick Development Association (BDA) Brick Awards and The Concrete Society Awards.

We are proud to be sponsoring both, with our headline sponsorship of the Brick Awards being the first of its kind! We have also been involved in many of the fabulous projects up for awards - you can see an overview of these on our LinkedIn channel or click the link below – https://www.ancon.co.uk/whats-new/leviats-innovation-shines-in-shortlisted-projects-at-brick-awards

The Concrete Society Awards is one of the longest running awards in the industry, which we support to show our commitment to the use and versatility of concrete across its many applications. Read more here: https://www.leviat.com/en-gb/blog/leviat-sponsors-concrete-society-awards-2024.html

Inspiring the next generation

Our ongoing collaboration with Universities across the UK is continuing in 2024 with many careers events and guest lectures taking place in October and November.

We are delighted to have supported Universities including: Brunel University of London , 英国利兹大学 , 英国谢菲尔德大学 , 英国诺丁汉大学 and 英国帝国理工学院 .

Abde Ouchen commented on the collaboration - "This partnership is constructive for both Leviat and the Universities as it allows for research opportunities, industry placements in our teams and development of our innovative products and solutions. Positive engagement from the students has been fantastic and we are delighted to be able to continue with the scheme going forward, especially now as an ICE Approved Employer."

Barratt London 2024 Gala Dinner

Key members of our Masonry team attended the first annual Barratt London Charity Gala Dinner last week with Ibstock, with the event raising over £110,000 for Muscular Dystrophy UK !

Thank you to Barratt London for hosting such a fantastic evening and to Neil Magner Mawdsley for the photo!

Developing our people

A number of Leviat employees from across each of our UK locations are taking part in the CRH 2024 Employee Development Programme (EDP). This scheme aims to not only unite people from across CRH businesses and develop key skills, but also raise valuable funds for the chosen charity partner Mates in Mind .

Each of the groups selected their own activity to fundraise, ranging from beach clean ups to completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge!

Below are a few of the fundraisers so far, tune in next month to see some of the other groups.

Congratulations to everyone on their fundraising achievements and best of luck for your final EDP presentations!

Yellow Belt Success for Maria!

A number of our employees are undergoing Lean Six Sigma training to develop their personal skills and learn how to implement 'lean' practices throughout Leviat.

We are very pleased that Maria Ilieva has successfully achieved her Yellow Belt Certificate, and trainer Glen Broughton had the following to say "Maria’s openness, energy and commitment to the programme and her fellow lean colleagues, was nothing short of inspiring. Maria is a true asset to her department and the wider Leviat community and I wish her every possible success, discovery and wonderment with her future lean journey."

Congratulations Maria!

Something frighteningly good is coming....
