A Conversation with our Firm Director?

Since Inigo’s establishment in 2017, student leaders have paved the way for a successful agency. Our firm directors are bright and talented individuals who take initiative to execute Inigo’s mission of igniting conversations and sparking results. These students have shaped our agency into who we are today, and we continue to grow with each new leader. ?

This semester’s firm director, Salvatore Carcagno , is an undergraduate senior studying advertising and public relations. In spring 2023, Carcagno worked as copywriting coordinator and built meaningful connections with our clients and staff. He utilized his creativity to craft copy for LinkedIn social media templates, internal communications handbook guides, interview questions for client events and more.??

When asked about the key differences between the positions of coordinator and firm director, Carcagno listed one being his interaction with feedback.?

He stated, “Last semester as a coordinator I received a lot of feedback on my work and learned how to accept and implement those changes efficiently. As firm director, on the other hand, I frequently give notes or edits on the work of others. The lessons I learned from my time as a coordinator have informed the way I communicate and share my feedback this semester.”??

For Carcagno, leadership is a position that requires continuous growth, with every day bringing a new learning experience. Speaking up and asking important questions has given him confidence when making decisions for Inigo.?

This semester, Carcagno’s mission is to grow our team’s morale and make Inigo a fun and exciting place to work. One of his favorite moments as a firm director thus far is Inigo’s first ever bowling night.? (Read more about our exciting outing in the story below!) Carcagno was proud of how successful bowling night was for our staff, finding it rewarding to see the team making memories outside of the classroom. ?

Blazers and Bowling?

Grab your blazer and bowling shoes, the agency is heading to the lanes!??

Our chief of staff, Anna Hietpas , orchestrated Inigo’s first ever bowling night. Hietpas’s mission was to create an unforgettable night full of enjoyment and flowing conversations. At Inigo, we believe team bonding is important because a stronger team produces better results. So, after posing for our headshots during our weekly staff meeting, the agency headed on over to a bowling alley located right on the stunning Chicago River and strapped on their bowling shoes!?

Our bowling night earned a strike for our team bonding agenda! Whether members participated in bowling or sat and watched, everyone was interacting and cheering each other on. Even our faculty advisor, Haley Carroll, joined the party!??

Elizabeth Landt , our creative design director, shared her riveting experience by saying, “I loved going bowling this semester because it was a chance to get to know everyone outside the classroom setting! It was a lot of fun!” Bowling night was an opportunity for members who have not had the chance to work together to get to know each other without the pressure of deadlines or performance.?

Bowling night was a reminder as to why we are a part of Inigo. We all support each other, creating friendships and connections that mean something outside of the agency, and we are excited for more team bonding activities in the future!?
