DESIGNING FOR THE UNDERESTIMATED

Medicaid programs serve a diverse array of people, some with complex needs, multiple chronic conditions, severe disabilities, or co-occurring behavioral and physical health conditions. These subpopulations account for a disproportionate share of Medicaid costs and pose the greatest opportunities for us to design the systems of care better.?As a convener, HT4M is working to change the table stakes and push for our rapidly growing systems who are systemically and historically fraught to think differently, convene differently—DESIGN for dignity!?

We center expertise, lived experiences and current realities of Medicaid recipients, their families and the communities we ALL live in.?We do not just label people with “underrepresented and marginalized identities”, we bet on the underestimated. We teach the principles of Medicaid and equity-centered design alongside, with, not for, communities and organizations, because collectively we understand the intersections of societal, political, economic, and environmental determinants of health.?In the last quarter of the year, we are pushing harder for convenings that push our common understanding, gathering people who we typically would never see in a room together and solving solutions to make sure we are discussing unintended consequences and not further impacting communities with technology enablement or untraditional partner involvement. Join us this month with virtual and in-person convenings and support our incredible work.?
