Free Automotive & Engineering Courses
This month we launched our Skills Connect fully funded short evening courses for adults at Castleford College. These courses are fully funded for the unemployed AND employed in West Yorkshire.

Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Writer Needed

Sign up your employees for a Skills Bootcamp this Autumn
To address future demands, the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group has launched a brand-new range of Skills Bootcamps in Automotive, Construction and Engineering.
This includes the Group’s Skills Bootcamp in Heat Recovery and Transfer which will teach learners how to scope a heat recovery transfer system for their home or business, enabling them to reduce their energy costs by putting waste heat to a useful purpose.
The next Skills Bootcamp in Heat Recovery and Transfer starts on 15th November.

Emergency Services at the Heart
This month, staff and students from across the Group learnt how to restart a heart as part of #RestartaHeart Day in Yorkshire. A huge thank you to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust staff and volunteers who have enabled our employees and students to become #CPRConfident .
Selby College students also got to learn first-hand the dangers of road incidents with a live demo from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service earlier in the month!

Siemens Mobility’s Internship for Project Search
Six Project SEARCH interns from Selby College have embarked on a new adventure with Siemens Mobility in Goole, where they will be able to gain insight into the workplace and build their skills and confidence.
On Thursday 3rd October, the interns attended the grand opening of Siemens’ new tube trains for the London Underground which go into service next year.?
They got to meet some important people in government, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan; Deputy Mayor of London, Seb Dance; Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh; the Commissioner for Transport for London, Andy Lord and Councillor for East Riding, Anne Handley.
DFN Project SEARCH is a one-year transition to work programme for young adults with a learning disability or autism spectrum conditions, or both.
