Top Grant Picks USDA Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (Application Deadline: November 7, 2024) In FY 2024 NIFA’s Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (CFPCGP) intends to solicit applications and fund two types of grants. The grant types are (1) Planning Projects (PP) and (2) Community Food Projects (CFP). The CFPCGP projects are to be designed to require a one-time contribution of Federal assistance to become self-sustaining and meet short- and long-term goals. Applicants are required to address two or more of the CFPCGP goals that best fit the plan or project being proposed to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable approach to resolving food and nutrition security and hunger. HRSA Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program (Forecasted Deadline: January 3, 2025) The Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program (Outreach Program) Program is a community-based grant program aimed towards promoting rural health care services by enhancing health care delivery to rural underserved populations in the local community or region. Through consortia of local health care and social service providers, communities can develop innovative approaches to challenges related to the specific health needs in rural areas that expand clinical and service capacity in rural communities. The overarching goals for the Outreach Program are to: (1) expand the delivery of health care services to include new and enhanced services exclusively in rural communities; (2) deliver health care services through a strong consortium, in which every consortium member organization is actively involved and engaged in the planning and delivery of services; (3) utilize community engagement and evidence-based or innovative, evidence informed model(s) in the delivery of health care services; and (4) improve population health, and demonstrate health outcomes and sustainability. Federal Healthcare & Behavioral/Mental Health Grants CDC Occupational Safety and Health Training Project Grants (T03) (Forecasted Deadline: November 8, 2024) The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), invites grant applications for Training Project Grants (TPGs) that are focused on occupational safety and health training. NIOSH is mandated to provide an adequate supply of qualified personnel to carry out the purposes of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the TPGs are one of the principal means for meeting this mandate. The majority of TPGs are in academic institutions that provide high-quality training in the core occupational safety and health disciplines of industrial hygiene (IH), occupational health nursing (OHN), occupational medicine residency (OMR), occupational safety (OS), as well as allied disciplines. CDC Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Centers (T42) (Forecasted Deadline: November 21, 2024) The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) invites grant applications for Education and Research Centers (ERCs) that are focused on occupational safety and health training. NIOSH is mandated to provide an adequate supply of qualified personnel to carry out the purposes of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the ERCs are one of the primary means for meeting this mandate. ERCs are academic institutions that provide high-quality interdisciplinary graduate and post-graduate training, research training, continuing education, and outreach in the core occupational safety and health disciplines of industrial hygiene, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine, and occupational safety, as well as allied disciplines. Research and research training are integral components of ERCs, with ERC faculty and NIOSH trainees conducting research on issues related to the NIOSH National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) and emerging issues to advance the field of occupational safety and health. NIOSH ERCs have regional presence to further diversify the occupational safety and health profession through their core values, mission statements, and outputs. ERCs serve as resources for our nation's workforce through continuing education, outreach and strong collaboration with professional associations, worker advocacy groups, businesses, industries, and public health agencies. ERCs work with other institutions and organizations, including Minority Serving Institutions and other NIOSH supported training programs to have a positive impact on worker health, safety, and well-being. ACL Field Initiated Projects Program (Development) (Forecasted Deadline: December 9, 2024) The purpose of the Field Initiated Projects program is to generate new knowledge through research or to develop methods, procedures, and technologies -- to maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family/caregiver support, and economic and self-sufficiency of people with disabilities, especially people with the greatest support needs. In carrying out a development project under a Field Initiated Projects development grant, a grantee must use knowledge and understanding gained from research to create materials, devices, systems, methods, measures, techniques, tools, prototypes, processes, or intervention protocols that are beneficial to the target population. Please note that this will be the funding opportunity for Field Initiated Projects development proposals. We will invite Field Initiated Projects research proposals under a separate announcement. HRSA Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part C Early Intervention Services Program: Limited Existing Geographic Service Areas (Forecasted Deadline: December 10, 2024) The purpose of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part C Early Intervention Services (EIS) Program funding is to provide comprehensive primary health care and support services in an outpatient setting for low income, uninsured, and underserved people with HIV. Grant funds assist eligible recipients to provide the following services in a defined service area: 1) counseling for individuals with respect to HIV; 2) targeted HIV testing; 3) periodic medical evaluations of individuals with HIV and other clinical diagnostic services regarding HIV; 4) therapeutic measures for preventing and treating conditions arising from HIV; and 5) referrals for people with HIV to appropriate providers of health and support services. HRSA Maternal and Child Health Public Health Catalyst Program (Forecasted Deadline: December 17, 2024) The purpose of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Public Health Catalyst Program is to recruit and train diverse graduate students in MCH public health; expand MCH curriculum and degree offerings within schools and programs of public health where there is currently a lack of, or limited, MCH offerings; and build MCH faculty capacity within schools and programs of public health. HRSA Centers of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Education, Science, and Practice (Forecasted Deadline: December 18, 2024) The purpose of the Centers of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Education, Science, and Practice (CoE) program is to strengthen and expand the MCH workforce by training graduate and post-graduate public health students in MCH; and advance MCH science, research, practice, and policy through a well-trained MCH public health workforce. This notice includes an additional opportunity to apply for the MCH Postdoctoral Fellowship Supplement. HRSA Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (Forecasted Deadline: December 30, 2024) The Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) program increases diversity in the health professions and nursing workforce by providing awards to eligible health professions schools for use in awarding scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have financial need, including students who are members of racial and ethnic minority groups.?? The SDS program aims to increase the: 1) number of graduates practicing in primary care, 2) enrollment and retention of full-time students from disadvantaged backgrounds including students who are members of racial and ethnic minority groups, and 3) number of graduates working in medically underserved communities. Eligible applicants are accredited schools of medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, nursing (as defined in section 801 of the PHS Act), pharmacy, podiatric medicine, optometry, veterinary medicine, public health, chiropractic, allied health, a school offering a graduate program in behavioral and mental health practice, or an entity providing programs for the training of physician assistants. HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals (Forecasted Deadline: January 21, 2025) The purpose of the BHWET Program for Professionals is to increase the supply of behavioral health professionals while also improving distribution of a quality behavioral health workforce and thereby increasing access to behavioral health services. CDC Changing Health Systems Using Evidence-based interventions to increase Colorectal Cancer Screening (Forecasted Deadline: January 22, 2025) This announcement funds recipients who will partner with health systems and primary care clinics with low colorectal cancer (CRC) screening prevalence. Recipients will work with their partners to use evidence-based interventions (EBIs) to increase screening in people aged 45 to 75 years old. The focus is on populations that have low screening prevalence and experience barriers to screening. Partner clinics must have screening prevalence below the national, regional, or local average. HRSA Addiction Medicine Fellowship (Forecasted Deadline: January 24, 2025) The purpose of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship (AMF) Program is to expand the number of fellows at accredited AMF and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship (APF) programs trained as addiction medicine specialists who work in underserved, community-based settings that integrate primary care with mental health disorders and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services he fellowship must include training in prevention and treatment services in rural areas that do not have access or have limited access to substance use disorder treatment. The AMF Program encompasses both psychiatry and an addiction subspecialty for primary care doctors. Eligible applicants include sponsoring institutions of accredited AMF programs or accredited APF programs, or a consortium consisting of at least one teaching health center and one sponsoring institution of an addiction medicine or addition psychiatry fellowship program. HRSA Rural Health Network Development Planning Program (Forecasted Deadline: January 27, 2025) The purpose the Rural Health Network Development Planning Program is to plan and develop integrated health care networks that collaborate to address the following legislative aims: (i) achieve efficiencies; (ii) expand access to and improve the quality of basic health care services and health outcomes; and (iii) strengthen the rural health care system. This program supports one year of planning and brings together members of the health care delivery system, particularly those entities that may not have collaborated in the past, to establish and/or improve local capacity to strengthen rural community health interventions and enhance care coordination. Foundation Healthcare & Behavioral/Mental Health Grants Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust (Application Deadline: October 31, 2024) DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust is dedicated to one, single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 AmeriCorps State and National Competitive Grants (Application Deadline: January 23, 2025) AmeriCorps improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering. AmeriCorps brings people together to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges through national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps members serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities and those serving.?AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations that engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. An AmeriCorps member is a person who does community service through AmeriCorps. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits. After successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award they can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans.?Organizations that propose to operate in only one state must apply through the Governor-appointed State or Territory Commissions. Foundation Education & Workforce Development Grants The Teagle Foundation: Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts (Concept Paper Deadline: December 1, 2024) The Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts initiative is jointly sponsored by the Teagle Foundation and the?Arthur Vining Davis Foundations?to support statewide, regional, or consortial academic partnerships between public two-year and private four-year colleges to facilitate transfer and completion of the baccalaureate in the liberal arts. Grants up to $25,000 over 6-12 months for planning and up to $350,000 over 24-36 months for implementation will be made to institutions participating in this initiative. The size of the grant award will be based on the number of institutions involved and the scope of the project. Planning grants are strongly encouraged.?LEARN MORE
Nasdaq Foundation: Quarterly Grant Program (Application Deadline: November 8, 2024) The Nasdaq Foundation works with organizations in the United States that promote and support under-resourced communities by reimagining investor engagement and equipping communities with the financial knowledge needed to share in the wealth that markets create. The Foundation’s Quarterly Grant Program provides support in two areas of focus: 1) programs designed to empower diverse investors with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to share in the wealth that markets can create, including programs that enhance financial literacy among women and under-represented communities or improve access to knowledge and tools among these two groups; and 2) programs designed to support women and under-represented minority communities with the resources needed to grow and sustain their businesses, including programs that equip women and diverse founders with mentoring and resources or improve their access to capital. IMLS?Museums Empowered (2025) (Application Deadline: November 15, 2024) Museums Empowered (ME) is a special initiative of the Museums for America grant program. It supports projects that use the transformative power of professional development and training to generate systemic change within museums of all types and sizes. IMLS recognizes the many challenges facing individual museums and the need to invest resources, time, and energy towards nurturing the professional development of staff and strengthening museum operations. The Museums Empowered grant program identifies four areas of museum operations to focus for professional development. Digital Technology focused projects that will support the work of museum staff in using digital technology to enhance audience engagement, collections access, or general museum operations. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion focused projects that will increase cultural competency among museum staff and support relevancy of museum programs through learning activities that strengthen their ability to connect with the communities they serve. Evaluation focused projects that will enhance the ability of museum staff to understand a broad spectrum of evaluation methods and techniques as well as better use evaluation reports, data, and metrics to improve the design and delivery of programs. Organizational Management focused projects that will help museum staff develop and implement effective practices in organizational management, human resources, and strategic planning in response to emerging internal or external priorities. DE?Smart Manufacturing Technologies for Material and Process Innovation (Application Deadline: November 18, 2024) To realize a clean, decarbonized economy, we must drive innovation to transform resources, materials, and manufacturing for energy applications. The U.S. ramp up of production of technologies that are needed for this energy transition will require new materials, new manufacturing processes, and new circular materials flows. The modernization of manufacturing can help bring these innovations on-line at the needed scale and quality faster. Smart manufacturing provides a systemic approach for this modernization that holds great promise to significantly improve productivity, efficiency, safety, security, and sustainability of U.S. manufacturing and energy systems. Smart manufacturing refers to the suite of platform technologies that directly support the digital transformation of the manufacturing enterprise across the entire production lifecycle, which includes design, process, production, supply network, and enterprise levels. Platform technologies are manufacturing technologies that can be applied to manufacture multiple products. This FOA applies smart manufacturing across four topic areas: Smart Manufacturing for a Circular Economy; Smart Manufacturing of Tooling and Equipment for Sustainable Transportation; Smart Manufacturing for High Performance Materials; and Smart Technologies for Sustainable and Competitive U.S. Mining. USDA Solid Waste Management Grant Program (Application Deadline: December 31, 2024) The Solid Waste Management (SWM) Grant Program has been established to assist communities through free technical assistance and/or training provided by the grant recipients. Qualified organizations will receive SWM grant funds to reduce or eliminate pollution of water resources in rural areas, and improve planning and management of solid waste sites in rural areas.?Funds may be used to: Evaluate current landfill conditions to determine threats to water resources; provide technical assistance and/or training to enhance operator skills in the operation and maintenance of active landfills; provide technical assistance and/or training to help communities reduce the solid waste stream; provide technical assistance and/or training for operators of landfills which are closed or will be closed in the near future with the development and implementation of closure plans, future land use plans, safety and maintenance planning, and closure scheduling within permit requirements. USDA?Technical Assistance and Training Grant Program (Application Deadline: December 31, 2024) The Technical Assistance and Training (TAT) Grant Program has been established to assist communities with water or wastewater systems through free technical assistance and/or training provided by the grant recipients. Qualified private non-profit organizations will receive TAT grant funds to identify and evaluate solutions to water and waste disposal problems in rural areas, assist applicants in preparing applications for water and waste grants made at the State level offices, and improve operation and maintenance of existing water and waste disposal facilities in rural areas. Foundation Community and Economic Development Grants Council on Library and Information Resources: Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives (Application Deadline: October 30, 2024) The Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives program, administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources, provides support to digitize rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the U.S. and Canada. The focus of the 2023-24 call for proposals, Amplifying Unheard Voices, is to support efforts to digitize rare and unique historical and cultural materials in a variety of formats that deepen public understanding of the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended. Nasdaq Foundation: Quarterly Grant Program (Application Deadline: November 8, 2024) The Nasdaq Foundation works with organizations in the United States that promote and support under-resourced communities by reimagining investor engagement and equipping communities with the financial knowledge needed to share in the wealth that markets create. The Foundation’s Quarterly Grant Program provides support in two areas of focus: 1) programs designed to empower diverse investors with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to share in the wealth that markets can create, including programs that enhance financial literacy among women and under-represented communities or improve access to knowledge and tools among these two groups; and 2) programs designed to support women and under-represented minority communities with the resources needed to grow and sustain their businesses, including programs that equip women and diverse founders with mentoring and resources or improve their access to capital. Bloomberg Philanthropies: Asphalt Art Initiative (Application Deadline: January 31, 2025) Bloomberg Philanthropies’? Asphalt Art Initiative responds to the growing number of cities around the world embracing art as an effective and relatively low-cost strategy to activate their streets. While cities incorporate art into public spaces in a variety of ways, the focus of this initiative is what we’re calling?asphalt art: visual interventions on?roadways?(intersections and crosswalks),?pedestrian spaces?(plazas and sidewalks), and?vertical infrastructure?(utility boxes, traffic barriers, and underpasses).?The Asphalt Art Initiative grant program supports projects that demonstrate the impact of asphalt art and encourages cities to develop their own processes for implementing these low-cost activations effectively. This year’s grants will award up to $100,000 for large-scale projects that will make signature streets safer and more accessible, create dynamic new public spaces, or enact other similarly transformative roadway redesigns. HUD FY 2024 Family Unification Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (Application Deadline: October 30, 2024) The Family Unification Program (FUP) is a program under which public housing authorities (PHAs) that partner with public child welfare agencies (PCWAs) provide Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) assistance to two groups: 1. Families for whom the lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the imminent placement of the family’s child, or children, in out-of-home care; or the delay in the discharge of the child, or children, to the family from out-of-home care; and 2. Youth at least 18 years and not more than 24 years of age (have not reached their 25th birthday) who left foster care, or will leave foster care within 90 days, in accordance with a transition plan described in Section 475(5)(H) of the Social Security Act, and are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless at age 16 or older. HUD?Continuum of Care (CoC) Builds (Application Deadline: November 21, 2024) The Initiative for Supportive Housing Development (INSiDE) NOFO targets efforts within Continuum of Care (CoC) geographic areas to address and reduce homelessness by adding new units of permanent supportive housing (PSH) through new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation through one-time INSiDE awards under the CoC program. PSH is permanent housing in which supportive services are provided to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness with a disability to live independently.?HUD has the following three goals for this competition: (1) Affirmatively further fair housing by addressing barriers that continue segregation, hinder access to areas of opportunity for protected class groups and vulnerable populations and concentrate affordable housing in under-resources areas. (2) Increase the supply of new permanent supportive housing units within CoC geographic areas to address homelessness for individuals and families experiencing homelessness where one member of the household has a disability. HUD?Fair Housing Initiatives Program - Private Enforcement Initiative (Application Deadline: November 25, 2024) The Fair Housing Initiatives Program (FHIP) funds non-profits and other fair housing organizations and currently provides funds to eligible organizations through competitive grants under several initiatives to carry out education and outreach and enforcement activities to prevent or eliminate discriminatory housing practices and to inform individuals of their rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act (FHA).?PEI provides funding to private, non-profit fair housing enforcement organizations that meet statutory requirements to conduct testing, investigate violations and obtain enforcement of the rights granted under the FHA or State or local laws that are substantially equivalent to the rights and remedies provided in the FHA. Foundation?Human Services Grants? Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust (Application Deadline: October 31, 2024) DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust is dedicated to one, single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. To carry out this responsibility, the DAV Charitable Service Trust supports physical and psychological rehabilitation programs; enhances research and mobility for veterans with amputations and spinal cord injuries; benefits aging veterans; aids and shelters homeless veterans; and evaluates and addresses the needs of veterans wounded in recent wars and conflicts. For those of every era, the Trust also supports programs that benefit the caregivers and families of ill and injured veterans. The DAV Charitable Service Trust accepts grant application submissions during four cycles within the calendar year. SBP: SHARE Program (Application Deadline: November 1, 2024) The SHARE Program, SBP’s in-house foundation, awards grants to qualifying nonprofit partners to address the unmet housing needs of under-resourced neighbors and communities. In addition to funding, the SHARE Program offers grantees technical training and consulting services on a variety of topics, including how to implement the Toyota Production System, how to develop effective and efficient processes for volunteer management, case management, construction and contractor selection, and more.?SBP is offering eligible nonprofit organizations the opportunity to apply for grant funds to support impacted individuals impacted by a?presidentially declared disaster in the last 4 years. These funds will support repairs for homeowners who reside in an FEMA Individual Assistance declared county and were impacted by the disaster event.?On average the award will allow for $14,000 per home, with most organizations receiving funding to complete 4 to 6 repairs. RWJF Evidence for Action: Innovative Research to Advance Racial Equity (Application Deadline: November 1, 2024) Evidence for Action prioritizes research to evaluate specific interventions (e.g., policies, programs, practices) that have the potential to counteract the harms of structural and systemic racism and improve health, well-being, and equity outcomes. We are concerned both with the direct impacts of structural racism on the health and well-being of people and communities of color (e.g., Black, Latina/o/x, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander people, and other races and ethnicities)—as well as the ways in which racism intersects with other forms of marginalization, such as having low income, being an immigrant, having a disability, or identifying as LGBTQ+ or a gender minority. This funding is focused on studies about upstream causes of health inequities, such as the systems, structures, laws, policies, norms, and practices that determine the distribution of resources and opportunities, which in turn influence individuals’ options and behaviors. Research should center on the needs and experiences of communities exhibiting the greatest health burdens and be motivated by real-world priorities. LEARN MORE
