AIEC 2024 ????

The AIEC conference in Melbourne, co-hosted by IDP and IEAA, welcomed more than 1,800 educators, researchers, and policymakers. We were delighted to be a media partner at the conference and cast a global lens on all the news and insights.

This year’s theme was?The Human Element, and attendees were reminded to ensure that the?student voice?is not lost amid political rhetoric, so-called ‘robocaps’, and other themes dominating discussions.

Delegates heard from Australia’s education minister Jason Clare, who?rationalised?the government’s proposed cap on international students numbers which has dominated headlines since May.

The PIE co-hosted an exclusive drinks reception with PTE. 'Coastal Connections' brought invitees together in celebration of PTE's 15th birthday at the breathtaking Coral Atoll in the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium to network and discuss the latest insights in higher education.

Lisa Phillipps also held a student roundtable at the conference, 'Speaking truth to power: the realities of Australia's international students,' at which international students offered fresh perspectives on what it really means to be an international student in Australia.

Check out our AIEC photo galleries on our website and see if you can spot some familiar faces.

Infinite Group exclusive evening event

Last week, The PIE co-hosted an exclusive evening event in Glasgow with Infinite Group to discuss devolved destination marketing and recruitment strategies for Scotland and Wales.

The event brought together key stakeholders from the education sector in Scotland, Wales and beyond, to engage in meaningful discussions on how to counter the growing pro-London agenda and collaborate as devolved nations to achieve more within our budgets. It also served as an excellent chance for attendees to network with peers and experts, share meaningful insights and explore potential collaborations.

Take a look at our photo gallery to see highlights from the evening.

Until next time,

Team PIE
