One of the unique advantages of being a vendor-partner is the width of work we get to do and see. And since Artha works closely in both higher-ed and corporate spaces, we notice interesting cross-sections of strategies between the two approaches.?

Valuable Insights from Experiences in Higher-Ed Projects

Our team has completed a few higher-ed projects lately - We built 4 certificates/micro-credentials, a 3-year diploma program with 14 courses, and enhanced some existing courses with interactives. For these projects, much of the content and assessments are typically built directly in the LMS to enable easy instructor updates. (Further read: a blog post on using LMS v/s Authoring tools.)

We augment that with interactive content built in tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, Genially, H5P, Padlets and more. We use custom styling using CSS, and custom-built graphics, animations and videos to engage students. And we use in-built LMS capabilities like discussion forums etc. to create a cohort culture. In blended programs, this look and feel is seamlessly carried over to in-person assets such as instructor slide deck, handouts, and student guides.

In fact, an escape room we built for a Co-op prep program is being showcased at the DevLearn Demofest next week!

Some things I have learnt from our work with Universities and Colleges:

• Learner engagement can take many forms - and can be built using many tools. Choose the type most appropriate for you.
• Cohort-based learning can be a wonderful tool for social peer-based learning - if leveraged well.
• A good design is a usable design. If your course content will require frequent updates, plan for it.

Updates with AIReady
