Repeatable Processes Drive Predictable Results
The Process Principle that I speak about in Chapter 3 of my book is all about building the engine to drive predictable business growth, as you scale. The lack of time and clarity that plague many business owners as they push for growth, can be traced back to the lack of focus on developing processes and procedures in their businesses. As David Jenyns discusses in his book Systemology and Daniel Priestley talks about in 24 Assets processes can become some of the most valuable assets you will develop in your business and should you ever want to sell and exit your business, a buyer will base their valuation heavily on your processes and systems. They want to know your business runs like a well-oiled machine, with or without you. I talk about this further in this video.

Alongside the valuable assets you are building into your business, is the value to you as the business owner, that processes give you to release you from the day to day running of the business, giving you back the time to focus on the high-value strategic work that you need to focus on to keep your business growing. I would say this is the single most critical area of processes and how they impact business growth.
Finally, when you have processes and procedures for everything in your business, you know that you will deliver the same standard and quality of delivery every time and you can now focus on optimising that delivery, to innovate and improve it, leaving anyone who comes into contact with your business saying "wow" about your user experience and that is what being remarkable is all about.
So take your time, start with your core processes, think about lead generation, customer acquisition, operational delivery and client engagement (post-sale) and process these out first. The heart of your business will become an optimised machine and this will be important when we get to next month's topic of leveraging technology to build out your systems and tech stack to enable you to grow at scale.
