What’s happening: OpenAI unveiled new image capabilities that allow users to upload .jpg, .png, and .gif files in ChatGPT. The new capability is available within the “Default” mode of GPT-4.??

Why it matters: Users are no longer limited to text. Instead of describing an image, you can simply upload it. The capability goes beyond just identifying elements of a photo — ChatGPT can offer feedback if you describe how you were going to use an image, help with troubleshooting an issue like a sick plant or a faulty device, and extract text from images.

Try this: While this capability may seem more like a parlor trick than a useful tool, there are certainly ways it could create efficiencies at work. Asking ChatGPT to analyze a diagram, explain a complex chart, or even explain a viral meme could be practical uses for a communications pro.?
