Welcome to December's monthly bulletin! As we approach the end of term, we'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all your hard work and commitment to your students this year. We hope you're able to enjoy a well-deserved, relaxing break when it comes.?

Our offices will close for the festive break at midday on Friday 23 December and re-open at 8am on Tuesday 3 January 2023. We're looking forward to continuing to support you and your students through 2023.


Teach Cambridge – resources available to support your assessment and delivery

We know many of you now have access to?Teach Cambridge , our new website that provides you with access to resources, training and support for the subjects you teach.?

If you're not yet set up on Teach Cambridge, please speak to your exams officer. You can send them?this link ?to get started.

You'll be able to find resources such as set assignments, past papers, examiners’ reports and online, on-demand training. We'll also be adding candidate exemplars over the coming weeks. We'll let you know when they're available to download – please remind your colleagues to?sign up for updates ?so that we can let them know when new resources are available.

Looking for material that your students are not familiar with to build mock exams?

In addition to past exam papers on Teach Cambridge, our question-building platform?ExamBuilder ?can help you quickly build bespoke mocks using questions from a wide range of past paper materials. You can tailor questions or parts of questions to build confidence in specific topics and to suit your students’ needs. And it's free of charge.


November 2022 results days

Results days for the November 2022 exams are as follows:

  • 11/12 January?–?GCSE
  • 25/26 January?– Cambridge Nationals.

Remember, there's lots of information available for your subject on our?results page .?

If you need to provide additional guidance to students, parents and carers such as examples of results slips, you can point them to the?student section ?of our website.


January 2023 exam series

The deadline for submitting centre-assessed marks for?Cambridge Nationals ?and?Extended Project ?is?10 January 2023.

Remember, before marks are submitted to us, you must inform candidates of their centre-assessed marks and allow time for them to appeal these marks.

As a reminder, exams for the January 2023 series take place:

  • 9–11 January?– Cambridge Nationals
  • 9–18 January?– Cambridge Technicals.


Summer 2023 arrangements, key dates and timetables

Ofqual and the Department for Education (DfE) confirmed in September that GCSE, AS and A Level exams in England will largely return to pre-pandemic arrangements next summer.

Cambridge Nationals & Cambridge Technicals updates

Cambridge Nationals 2021/22 reduction in assessment

If you have Cambridge Nationals candidates?certificating in January 2023, you must tell us if you are requesting a reduction in assessment for moderated units that were planned to be assessed in 2021/22.?

The ‘reduction in assessment’ area of Interchange will be available for you to tell us which units you're using the reduction in assessment?from?2 January to 6 February.

2022/23 assessment arrangements for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals

As a reminder, we're returning to normal assessment arrangements for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals during 2022/23. Read more in our?subject update .

Cambridge Technicals Level 3 and Level 2 funding update

We recently shared the great news?that five of the seven Level 3 Cambridge Technicals (2016) qualifications proposed for defunding will continue to be funded until our redeveloped qualifications are launched. Read more in our?news story .

Cambridge Technicals results statistics for 2021/22

We've now published the Cambridge Technicals qualifications?results statistics for 2021/22 , our first full release since 2018/19 results statistics were made available. You can use these to see the percentages of achievement outcomes for students nationally for each qualification.


English competition: win a class set of 30 books

As part of our work on?improving diversity ?in our English Literature qualifications, we’re working with the?Lit in Colour ?programme to run a book competition for our A Level English Literature schools and colleges!

For the first 200 schools or colleges to complete the form, Penguin Random House will provide a class set (30 copies) of one of the following texts on our specification:

To enter the competition, schools and colleges should?submit their details ?by?31 January 2023.

Become an ambassador centre and receive an additional donation of 300 books

There's also an exciting opportunity to become an ambassador centre for OCR, giving you a chance to help shape our GCSE and A Level English qualifications. Ambassador centres will receive an additional donation of a Lit in Colour mini library (300 copies of exciting, varied books by authors of colour aimed at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5). If you'd like to register your interest, please tick 'Yes' on the competition form and follow the instructions.
