Oceanside Leadership Academy Graduates First Cohort and Launches Fall Session

Earlier this year, the Chamber graduated its first Oceanside Leadership Academy cohort in a ceremony hosted at the Oceanside Museum of Art. A total of 31 participants graduated from the inaugural OLA program after 9 weeks of sessions that featured an overview of leadership in various sectors including Health Care, STEM Technologies, Hospitality/Tourism, Military, Municipal government, Entrepreneurship, and the Non-Profit sector.?

Throughout the program, participants learned from some of the region’s key leaders on various leadership philosophies and how to lead teams through internal and external organizational challenges.

Some of Oceanside’s leading employers like Frontwave Credit Union, Genentech, Arrowood Golf Course and the City of Oceanside are using Oceanside Leadership Academy as a professional development opportunity for their staff.?

Frontwave Credit Union CEO Bill Birnie had this to say about the program: “The Oceanside Leadership Academy is an amazing program for the emerging leaders within your organization.? While the Chamber’s initial plan was to run the Academy each Spring, the plans now include a Fall session as well. The program’s second cohort kicked off on September 9th with 32 participants and will run through November 2nd.?
