Welcome to our first newsletter blast-off! We thought it'd be fun to share all the juicy details about what our team is up to, including our biggest challenges, victories, and everything in between.
Who knows, it might be hilarious, fascinating, or maybe even snooze-worthy for our readers. But hey, we're up for the challenge and let's see how it turns out.
2023 has started with a BANG for us at Occusurv! Our team traveled more than 5000 km in January, so we're already knee-deep in the action. One of our surveyors had a run-in with a mugger in the Eastern Cape while on the job, but thankfully they escaped unharmed and their phone was insured. Tragically, another surveyor was mugged and attacked with a knife just outside Durban CBD in mid-January, but they're safe and on the road to recovery. And let's just say, one of our team members learned the hard way not to leave their gear on the back seat of their car, even for a "quick in-and-out" at the local shop.
We've also welcomed a new teammate and we're thrilled to have them aboard! It usually takes a bit of time to get up to speed with our systems and procedures, but they're already cruising and ready to hit the road.
We've had a few appointment cancellations on-the-day and on-site, which can be a bummer, especially when you're traveling 140 km one-way. But that's just part of the gig, and most of the clients stick to their appointment dates, making these cancellations a minor inconvenience. We all face similar challenges in different industries, right?
We're in the middle of developing some cool upgrades for our #commercialinsurance #underwriter clients, and we're chomping at the bit to share them with you soon. So, stay tuned!
