MY ROOM is OCCUPIED
As I cross over another milestone into 2024, I reflect on my article “Is Your Room Empty,” published in 2020 -2021, during the transition of my business from “mom's store” to “cube farming” present day.? The article focused on my recent business transaction and reflection back on the process the difficulties of the transaction and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are better than you, thus “Is Your Room Empty”.??? I won't lie that business transaction was a milestone in my career and probably the most challenging thing I have ever accomplished at that moment but in retrospect was “nothing” and just the beginning of an adventure bigger than me (PRRS).?
What does the beginning or bigger picture look like for me after such a milestone?? It looks like a rocky, curvy, narrow road filled with snakes and traps, which will prove to be the most challenging path yet traversed in my 30-year business career in an industry that has offered many rewards, successes, and failures.? I have slowly realized over the years and through this experience, it’s not about me or a room.? There is NO ROOM! There is no room big enough to capture everyone who contributes to you or your success.? You can’t measure a room by its size because there isn’t a room large enough.? I measured my success from the size of a room or plateau that I thought was the next room at a higher peak with more people.?
Wow……. what a misconception I had about what success looked like for me and my company.? I truly believed when I published the article that it accurately described events leading to such success, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.? The thought that anyone or group could fill a room and thank everyone for all they contributed to the success of a company or person.? It's bullshit and was utterly wrong.? But in my defense, it was another milestone in the learning process.
The fact is the room doesn’t exist, it’s a mirror that you look into every day and decide how you are going to achieve the common goals of those you have surrounded yourself with.? The room exists only in the mind because it’s so big that you must look at it through a mirror with the reflection of you and the people who contributed to your success and the common goals achieved along the way.? There is no peak or new room big enough to accommodate everyone.? ??The only room big enough is your mirror and conscience.?

I have concluded for now the only room big enough to honor those who have contributed or will contribute to your individual success is a mirror that you look into every day and honor those people who helped you through good and bad experiences along they way.? If the time comes that allows you to get a room, allowing you to honor those people in one room, then consider it a miracle. Until that miracle presents itself, honor those around you daily by saying thank you!
Until that room or plateau is big enough, I will continue to look into the mirror daily and thank everyone who contributed to my success through negative and positive experiences.?
?
I love you all through the mirror today.? ??
