The Obstacle is the Path

Any new roadblock thrown in front of us is an opportunity for growth and learning.
These are the unavoidable situations we face every day, no matter how big or small. They reveal how effortlessly we can transition from being comfortable to a state of denial, acceptance, going with the flow, or overthinking what the outcome may be. It shows that we do not always have full control over how we think we want to move.?
Progression and evolving are never a straight line, as we often envision.
Those roadblocks may well be ingrained in our DNA. They are part of what we need to accept. Fighting them, and you probably lose every single time.
However, we can be prepared for them, no matter what is thrown at us. It comes back again to two things we do have control over: action and mindset.
In too many cases, we linger and avoid taking that first step. It is definitely something I noticed when people touch base with me for that first chat about health.
Overthinking, reviewing it from different angles, and trying to see whether we can omit taking that step, just to avoid what may be the expected or wished-for future outcome. No matter how you look at it, delaying the start of the process does not solve the roadblock set in front of you.
If you battle against your body, you will always lose.
Resisting our bodies is futile.
The sciences have proven it over and over again. Health is more than just those parts you can see. Physically, being attuned to fitness certainly gives you the looks and compliments you may, or may not, pursue. But is fitness limited to only the exterior? It is not. The mental side of health is so intertwined with how we move, look, and feel, and it is still not part of the conversation when someone asks, “You look great!”. Looks are deceiving in too many cases as we do not bring the mental state of health into these answers.
Remember, the exterior does not always show the truth of what mixes inside. We can be extremely good at hiding what’s really boiling below the surface.
Power resides in a goal-oriented and unwavering mindset. In my own case, my mindset shifted from "I can do this alone and don’t want to share it with anyone" to a sense of relief when my gut told me, "It’s okay to share, and no, you do not need to take this on alone."?
As long as you let your gut do the primary talking.
Our minds are programmed to think and create more negative thoughts than positive ones. It is a biological process that starts from when we devour the first information. So often, our values and thoughts play tricks, attuned to what we think may be the end of the world or a future filled with uncertainties.
Even in my own life, it became clear that the goal was evident. However, the path leading towards this goal was all over the place. Anyone looking for ways to combat the trajectory in finding ways to thrive again through shortcuts, seeking the least amount of resistance yet ignoring the fact that the outcome involved taking that leap of faith.
Despite countless hours spent contemplating alternative solutions and potential outcomes, the core solution remained: trust the process and maintain a positive mindset.
It all boils down once taking action is that step forward and maintaining a train of thought that everything will be okay.
We know we are on the right path. Our journey is not finished, but we have come a long way. | Muhammadu Buhari

2 周I pause at, "It’s okay to share, and no, you do not need to take this on alone." I think there is more to this than at first pass, which is why I pause here. It is not a sign of weakness to ask for help. In fact to not ask for help could be denying someone the opportunity for their growth. ??

2 周So often we see obstacles as negatives and yes they may invoke negative emotions but when you step away from the emotion we realise the obstacle is part of the way, part of the path, and the reason for growth
