"The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." - Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius


In common parlance, the above quote is usually known as "The obstacle is the way". It is a great philosophy in its own right, but for user experience professionals, I think it is particularly meaningful, as it is core to what we look for to make the world a better place.

Find the problem, and solve for it. Find the pain point, remove it. Find the friction, reduce it. There are so many ways to re-phrase this thought.

In your work as a UX professional, focus on the problems and you will ultimately find success. Not everything you do will be significant, but even if all you do is make one positive change, you have made a change for good.

Find the obstacles and let them lead you to great solutions.
