This month, research from Mental Health UK revealed that 20% of workers have taken leave due to stress, whilst the Scottish Government kicked off a trial four-day working week.

?? According to the International Monetary Fund , AI will affect almost 40% of jobs worldwide, replacing some and complimenting others. The report said automation had affected routine tasks historically, but AI could now impact high-skilled jobs and advanced economies too.

?? In 2024, Gen Z will need the following from their employers for the economy to continue to grow; support paying off student loans, a mentor rather than a manager, less stigma around job hopping and openness to working with AI.

?? Research from Mental Health UK found that 20% of workers needed to take time off work due to stress in 2023. The report explained that employee mental health has taken a hit as the cost of living crisis and global tensions continue to rise.

?? According to a new annual movers index from Virgin Media O2 Business , four in ten companies returned to a full-time office week in 2023. The research also revealed that 52% of workers preferred to go to the office, and 39% attended the office more frequently last year than in 2022.

?? The Scottish Government has started a four-day working week for the public sector. With no loss of pay, the pilot is intended to assess the wellbeing, environmental and productivity benefits such a week could bring.

?? Totaljobs have reported that 33% of UK employers are planning on increasing salaries and bonuses in Q1 of 2024. The move comes after higher pay was found to be the leading factor in resignations between October and December 2023.
