FRAUD ALERT
We were recently made aware of an incident where a customer's phone was hacked. They received an email from a friend that had malware installed and hacked his mobile (the friend was hacked too and he was on a different network). This person gained access to all his handset contacts and cloned his phone. They then went on to do a sim swap and texted all his contacts requesting money as he was “in a tight spot” one of their friends unfortunately sent money over.” The user had an iPhone 7 Plus which is considered by most users as fairly secure out of the box. Interestingly this was a customer who flatly refused to take out any protection such as McAffee or MaaS360. They have now added this to the account.
O2 WELCOME NEW COUNTRIES TO 4G ROAMING
Great news, O2 have now welcomed Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Isle of Man, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, UAE, Uruguay and United States to 4G Roaming! They are joining Brazil, Channel Islands, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain. Additional countries are expected to be added by the end of May 2018, we will let you know when these additional countries have been confirmed.
As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read my update and I hope you find it useful.
Have an awesome week!
