O' Shakespeare, My Shakespeare
O' Shakespeare, my Shakespeare, why are you still such a mystery;
Did you not leave behind a lot of history?
Why is your presence so big a debate,
Oh, you formally uneducated genius of the Elizabethan age!
?
You may have been "inspired" by the Wits and their stuff,
But you came into your own soon enough.
From Henry VI to Tempest and all in between,
You gave us a lot of plays never again seen.
?
But equally impersonal sonnets you sure did write,
Was it intentional or just out of spite?
That you never did address them to someone;
Were they even meant to be read by anyone?
?
Alas! These questions shall remain forever unanswered for me,
Oh, only, If only we could conjure thee...
