NYPA’s Supplier Diversity Small + Local Capacity Building program

Over the past few weeks, we've been highlighting several businesses that have participated in our Supplier Diversity Small Business Program.

Our purpose is to build lasting relationships with diverse suppliers that fuel innovation and growth in New York State. We’ll do this by educating and preparing diverse entrepreneurs with the business skills necessary to increase procurement opportunities within NYPA and Canals.

Some of the program highlights include access to capital, help with accounting, certification assistance, bidding assistance, one on one consulting and best practice education taught by subject matter experts. There is NO COST to the diverse supplier. It is all FREE. The programs run from 7.5 months up to one year.

We’re committed to building upon a strong foundation in the environmental and social justice space as we celebrate 40 years of Supplier Diversity this year.

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) would like to highlight one of the NYPA Small Business Program’s participants, Manmohan Uttarwar, and his company, American Software, LLC. About the Founder:

Manmohan Uttarwar has more than two decades of professional technology experience, with almost 18 years specifically dedicated to the Capital Markets space, working for buy side, sell side, and Broker Dealer firms on Wall Street. Previously, he was a Global Head of Technology for Fixed Income, FX, and Alternative Investments at a $300 Billion AUM firm in New York, NY, with an approximately 300-member technology team. He was also approached by approximately a dozen different Capital Market firms, ranging from $1.0 Trillion AUM - $ 3.0 Trillion AUM, to head their technology operations globally. He also has equal expertise on the Equities Capital Markets technology while working at various Wall Street firms, having spent almost a decade in that space, as well. Due to his multi-decade leadership experience working directly with trading floor stakeholders, like portfolio managers, traders, and analysts, he understands both the business and technology sides of the deliverables. He has experience running technology in Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Alternative Investments, Compliance, and Commodities.

Manmohan has course equivalency of four master’s degrees, two in technology, including a master’s in software engineering from Kansas State University, and two on the business side, which includes his current CFA L-2 candidature and his further commitment and pursuit of Capital market domain expertise. Besides the above pedigree, he has various other industry recognized certifications, both in the technology and capital markets/financial services areas.

Manmohan is pivotal in providing vision and leadership to his company, American Software, LLC; he does this by tirelessly working towards fulfilling his firm’s mission and acting as a guiding start for the growth of his firm. He continuously capitalizes on his vast experience in technology, management, team, and relationship building skills. About the Founder:

Atif Jalil Khan is the founder of Bilqees Technology Solutions Inc (BTS). He has been involved in the information technologies (IT) industry for 23 years. He specializes in IBM SOA and MuleSoft API Connectivity integration architecture technologies such as MuleSoft, Salesforce, IBM API Connect, and IBM DataPower. He has supported 23 public sector organizations throughout his career. He has also supported the government of New York State, and the federal government by executing integration projects for both those levels of government respectively.?

About Bilqees Technology Solutions:

Atif founded BTS in December 2008. Since then, the Company was able to perform contract-based work for companies such as MetLife Insurance, the State of Tennessee, International Business Machines (IBM), United Parcel Service (UPS), Ralph Lauren, Aetna Health, Santander Bank, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Pacific Life Insurance, and AT&T Telecommunications. This work was done via a middle company that supports integration projects for administration, development, and architecture related technical services.

BTS also worked on eight accounts for IBM as a reseller such as Streamline Help Inc, ShipExpress Inc, Alcoa, Executive Inn & Suites Corp, Anne Taylor Distribution, Emorywood Industry Inc, CU Answers, Inc, and Banker Video Service Corp.
