NY Times Article Asks - "Do Tea Drinkers Live Longer?"

First, I'd like to send my sincerest wishes to all that they stay healthy and safe during this serious pandemic. I've been working from home for over two weeks, as has my staff, and the challenges we face pale in comparison to the heroic EMT, MD's, RN's and hospital staff that work on the front lines of the war on COVID-19. Our admiration and respect for their work is as high as one can get!

Even during tough times, it is nice to get some good news every once in a while. The New York Times today highlighted tea's ability to lower risk of cardiovascular disease by some 4%. (See: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/02/well/eat/do-tea-drinkers-live-longer.html?smid=em-share )

In the article, they state, "Researchers combined data from 39 observational studies involving more than 1.8 million men and women who drank black or green tea. The review of studies is in Advances in Nutrition.

They found that each one-cup increase in daily tea consumption was associated with an average 2 percent decrease in any cardiovascular event, a 4 percent decrease in death from cardiovascular disease, a 4 percent lower risk of stroke and a 1.5 percent lower risk of death from any cause. The effects were strongest in older populations."

This coupled with research that indicates tea's ability to boost your immunity further underscores our recommendation to drink tea every day... particularly in the face of COVID-19.

Please, stay safe; stay indoors; keep your distance... and we'll beat this horrible virus together.
